Found December 26, 2012 on NESN.com:
The Patriots — as long as they don’t make the Super Bowl — will be well represented in the 2013 Pro Bowl with seven players. The Patriots finished third in the NFL, behind the 49ers (nine) and the Texans (eight) in NFL Pro Bowlers. Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, Logan Mankins, Vince Wilfork, Jerod Mayo and Matthew Slater were all named to the AFC squad, according to NFL.com. Gronkowski, Mankins, Wilfork and Mayo were all named starters. Peyton Manning is starting over Brady and A.J. Green and Andre Johnson over Welker. Slater was the only special-teamer named to the AFC squad. The only player New England fans may clamor for as a snub would be cornerback/safety Devin McCourty, but playing two positions — and being labeled as a cornerback — likely hurt him. The only rookies to make the 2013 Pro Bowl were Robert Griffin III and Vikings kicker Blair Walsh.

NFL Week 17 Injury Report: New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski

The New England Patriots have been without TE Rob Gronkowski for several weeks after he suffered a broken forearm. He returned to practice in the middle of December, but has failed to return to the field in game situations as of yet. In recent weeks, there has been speculation as to when Gronkowski would return to the field, after officially being listed as questionable on the team’s...

Time is now for Patriots defense to grow up fast

It’s been the Tom Brady show since 2007, but before that, the defense was a thing of beauty in New England. The likes of Richard Seymour, Asante Samuel, Mike Vrabel and Ted Bruschi carved out the Patriot Way; they played it hard, but worked it harder. This is the defense Bill Belichick wants, he’s just waiting for them to grow up. Belichick has his pass rusher in Chandler Jones...

New England Patriots: How They Can/Can’t Win it All

Continuing in this series, I’ve got the next team I think is the most logical choice to win the Super Bowl this season; the New England Patriots. Now I realize that if your pick before the season started to play in the Super Bowl was New England and Green Bay, well you’re not going out on a limb too far. This is why that wasn’t my original pick. But if you were asking...

The NFL announced the 2012 Pro Bowl roster Wednesday. Here's the seven Patriots selected. Tom Brady Wes Welker Rob Gronkowski Logan Mankins Vince Wilfork Jerod Mayo Matthew Slater  All are repeat Pro Bowlers from 2011 except for Jerod Mayo, who was last selected in 2010. Mayo said, via Boston.com: “It’s an honor to be recognized by my peers, the...

Brady finds a positive in recent struggles

Tom Brady has found something encouraging in his toughest stretch of the season. He knows he and his New England Patriots can come back from a huge deficit. The two-time NFL Most Valuable Player had his three lowest passer ratings of the season in his past four games. His 68.9 on Dec. 16 in a 41-34 loss to the San Francisco 49ers was his worst in his last 49 regular-season games...

Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes jokes that he left Santa cocaine and Jack Daniels (Picture)

While most of us left milk and cookies for Santa, it appears that New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes decided to leave him something a little more risque. Check out this Twitter post that he left on his page: (Courtesy of Backyard Sports Blog)

The Dolphin's - Tom Brady Defense

Beating the Patriots is never easy with Belichick at the helm and Brady behind center, but Brady has a weakness and the Dolphins have exploited it in prior seasons. Brady is one of the hardest... Brady close to breaking wins record

Tom Brady was in his second season as a pro when he won his first playoff game. Now as a 13-year veteran, the New England Patriots star needs one more victory to break a tie with Joe Montana for most in the postseason by a quarterback. He'd love to get his 17th on Sunday against the Houston Texans, not just to reach the milestone but to also advance to the AFC championship...

Seven Patriots will play in Pro Bowl, do you even care?

I for one could care less. Who watches this game? It's great for players to be honored with a pro bowl selection but it becomes such a joke of a game. After injuries, etc. there's always a ton of players that get into the Pro Bowl despite probably not deserving it. Andy Dalton played in the Pro Bowl last year. Andy Dalton!Boston.comThe NFL has released the AFC and NFC rosters...

Tom Brady, Patriots Must Find Momentum, Mental Toughness This Week to Keep Season From Slipping Away

Tom Brady was ticked off after the Patriots’ win against the Jaguars last Sunday. As he should have been — it was less a game than a poorly executed practice, with all facets of the team playing with a general malaise. While recent studies have shown that an angry Brady is a terrific Brady for the Patriots, this kind of angry Brady is not. Brady should be praised for getting...

Vince Wilfork: Hard to believe Mark Pouncey's only in 2nd year

New England Patriots veteran nose tackle Vince Wilfork has gone head-to-head against Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey a few times. It's felt like more.Wilfork will be up against Pouncey, who is now finishing up his second season, when their respective teams square off Sunday. (photo: jdn, Flickr)"It’s rare that you find a center that can pull out into the open field...

Belichick, Patriots wary of Jones' nose for the ball

Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones may have been denied a Pro Bowl nod this season, but he has emerged as one of the better play-making defenders not just in the AFC, but in the league. And though the third-year defensive back may not be getting the national recognition, his opponents are certainly aware of his abilities."He’s been involved in a lot of big plays lately,"...
