A day after dumping 22 players from the roster to get down to 53, the Patriots continued making moves today, signing seven players to the practice squad and trading for St. Louis Rams wide receiver Greg Salas. The Rams will get a late 2015 draft pick in return for Salas, who’s rookie season was cut short last year when he broke his fibula in November. Signed to the practice squad were G Thomas Austin, FB Eric Kettani, WR Sam Kirkland, OT Matt Kopa, TE Alex Silvestro, LB Jeff Tarpinian and DB Malcolm Williams. In another set of moves, the Patriots also acquired former BC offensive lineman Matt Tennant off waivers from the New Orleans Saints. The Patriots’ latest reclamation project ends a bit premature: To make room for Tennant, the team has cut ties with linebacker Booby Carpenter.
