Is Danny Amendola the biggest free agent bust since Alvin Harper?

When the New England Patriots signed Danny Amendola to replace Wes Welker they were hoping for the same type of production, but they knew when they signed him, he has not had one season in the NFL where he played more than 12 games. They let Wes Welker go, and he currently leads the NFL […]

Aqib Talib Would Be Bigger Loss on Defense Than Vince Wilfork, Jerod Mayo and Other Patriots Thoughts

FOXBORO, Mass. – If there was such thing after six weeks of the season, Aqib Talib would undoubtedly be the Patriots’ team MVP. The cornerback has shut down Julio Jones, Roddy White, A.J. Green and Jimmy Graham in subsequent weeks. He made a game-saving play in the final seconds against the Falcons and has solidified the Patriots’ secondary with the help of his fellow...

Report: Aqib Talib has a hip flexor

According to ProFootballTalk.com,  Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib suffered a hip flexor during Sunday’s win over the Saints. Per a league source, Talib has suffered a strained hip flexor.  In 2010, he tore a tendon from a bone in his hip, which knocked him out from December through the end of the season. The good news is that this injury isn’t considered serious. Need NFL Tickets...

Worst Fears Come True: Jerod Mayo Out for the Season

According to WEEI.com, there was a chance that if Jerod Mayo's pectoral injury was not too severe, then the two-time pro bowler would be able to begin lifting again in six weeks and could make a return to the field in eight weeks. That won't be happening. The Patriots have lost another team captain for the season, placing Mayo on injured reserve.  New England has now...

Jimmy Graham shut down by Talib and Pats defense

Coming into Sunday's game against the Patriots, Jimmy Graham was an unstoppable force at tight end. In five games, he had already racked up 37 receptions, 593 yards, and six touchdowns. He was not able to add to any of those totals in Foxborough, as he was shut down entirely by Aqib Talib and others when Talib went down with a hip injury. Talib has been making a name for himself...

Danny Amendola Listed on Injury Report With Concussion, Receiver Missed Practice

FOXBORO, Mass. — It appeared obvious at the time, but now we can put an official title on Danny Amendola‘s injury. The receiver has a concussion. Amendola, Dan Connolly (concussion), Tommy Kelly (knee), Aqib Talib (hip) and Leon Washington (ankle) all missed practice. Brandon Bolden (knee), Julian Edelman (thigh), Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm), Michael Hoomanawanui ...

(via Silverman’s Best: Patriots vs. Saints - 10/13/2013)

The lack of investment in DL and interior OL over the last few years, especially on draft day, is puzzling to me. So far the Patriots had most got away thanks to V. Wilfork and D. Scarnecchia's magics. But obviously they have been exposed this year with W

I agree on the DL, but on the offensive line you’ve got two first round picks in Solder and...

Patriots receivers at the top of the league in dropped passes

BARRY CHIN/GLOBE STAFF Bad passes and drops. So far that's been the story of the Patriots offense. Certainly, the evidence would back that up. Tom Brady is currently completing just 56.9% of his passes, the lowest mark of his career. A lot of that has to do with some rookie wide receivers who haven't been able to catch the ball. According to NBC Sports, the Patriots...

For New England It's Brady...and Nothing Else

FN's Tom Danyluk says Tom Brady's improbable drive that pierced the Saints was the finest of his career.

How the Patriots Shutdown Jimmy Graham

The complete shutout of Jimmy Graham, the most dominant tight end in football this year, was a notable outcome in a Patriots game that had several highlight moments. While Aqib Talib deserves all the praise in the world for pretty much single covering Graham for the entire night (before he left in the fourth quarter with a hip injury), make no mistake, the Patriots clamp down...

Kenbrell Thompkins set for record rookie year

Most undrafted rookies won't even make a roster out of training camp, let alone play all that much if they do. Kenbrell Thompkins isn't one of those guys. Thompkins, the undrafted youngster out of Cincinnati, has turned heads all season and made the game winning touchdown grab on Sunday against the Saints. He has caught 21 balls for 318 yards and 4 scores in only 6 games...
