Found November 11, 2011 on The Rap Sheet:
When we talked with Jets CB Darrelle Revis earlier in the week, he noted how physical things got with Patriots WR Wes Welker last time. Revis even said, “Sometimes, I was throwing him on the ground.” Today, it was Welker’s turn. I mentioned to him what Revis said and wondered if throwing a WR to the ground was cool in the NFL. It seemed Welker was ready for this question. “I think we’ve had a lot of physical matchups over the years,” Welker said, “where different things happen. I kinda know the way it’s going to be played and what to expect and hopefully the referees do, too.” Hmmmm… (more…)

Wes Welker Likes Little People Waiters At His Parties

New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker is probably the shortest dude in the NFL. He’s listed as 5’9″, but he’s probably a little shorter than that. So what does he do when he throws a party? He hires little people as waiters. TMZ reports that Welker specifically requested the catering company put a couple people shorter than him on the waitstaff, which is what you’re...

Patriots WR Welker limited in practice

New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a rib injury. Walker absorbed a hard hit in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the New York Giants. He had sat out practice last Wednesday with a neck injury suffered in a game against Pittsburgh, but returned to practice the following day. The 30-year-old Welker leads the league in receptions...

Revis on Welker: He’s the Energizer Bunny

Darrelle Revis talked to the New England media about playing the Patriots and talked about Welker, Ochocinco and more.  You can listen to the audio of it here. When asked about Wes Welker, Revis was – of course – quite complementary. "Last game, the matchup was great between Wes," said Darrelle. "Sometimes I was throwing him on the ground, and sometimes he...

Bruise cruise in the works for Patriots WR

Opponents are finding out good things can happen against the Patriots when you leave a few bruises on Wes Welker. And with one of the NFL’s most physical cornerbacks in Darrelle Revis leading the way, it sounds as if the Jets intend to become the latest team to take...

Doing more with Wes

Since coming to the Patriots via a 2007 trade with the Miami Dolphins, wide receiver Wes Welker has played in 69...

Megatron, Revis are faces of NFL 2011

In the pass-happy NFL of 2011, it's a shame Megatron won't be visiting Revis Island. Calvin Johnson and Darrelle Revis have been the maestros of the league halfway through the schedule. The Lions wideout nicknamed Megatron has looked superhuman and is on a record receiving pace. The Jets All-Pro cornerback actually has been tested a few times, flunking quarterbacks and receivers...

Transcript: Revis, Tomlinson, Burress 11/10

New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis, 11.10 On what the team is doing better since losing to New England… Just stopping the mental mistakes and we’re playing with a lot more confidence. We’re being a little bit more aggressive on defense. On whether the Patriots look vulnerable… Watching the film, you see how teams are trying to play them now a little bit. I see the Steelers...

Jets and Pats avoiding trash talk this time

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — It would be hard to tell that the New York Jets host the New England Patriots on Sunday night in a crucial divisional battle. Unlike years past, there was no "I hate the Jets" proclamation from Tom Brady, no foot references from Wes Welker and not a single anatomical reference about Brady from Antonio Cromartie. The headlines don't scream out...

Mangold solidifies O-line

Rex Ryan complimented Nick Mangold this week by calling him “the Darrelle Revis of centers.”With the way Mangold is playing for the Jets recently, it might be more accurate to call Revis the Nick Mangold of cornerbacks. If there was any question about his value to the Gang Green...

No More Mr. Weak Link

Kyle Wilson was practically crucifed last season after his performance, especially in comparison to the likes of Joe Haden and Devin McCourty, was less than stellar. Almost immediately the questions began, had the Jets really found themselves a “steal” at the end of the first round or just another … bust? The lockout prolonged any opportunities Wilson may have had to improve...
