Having backed into the sixth seed, despite losing the season finale at home to the Ravens -- Cincy was 0-4 against AFC North rivals Baltimore and Pittsburgh -- the Bengals now will play at No. 3 Houston, which is down to its third-string QB, rookie T.J. Yates.
And then may not even have him for the playoffs.
Yates had to step in after Matt Schaub, and then Matt Leinart, suffered season-ending injuries.
Making matters worse for the Texans -- who will be making the first playoff appearance in franchise history -- is that Yates was hurt early in Sunday's loss to the Titans in Houston and had to be replaced by Jake Delhomme.
The extent of Yates' injury was not known early Sunday night.
