The depth at cornerback took another hit today when the Patriots placed rookie Ras-I Dowling on injured reserve with a hip injury. Yesterday, the team surprisingly released veteran Leigh Bodden. With Bodden gone and Dowling done for the season, the Pats only have Devin McCourty, Kyle Arrington, Antwaun Molden, and Philip Adams at corner. With the two open roster spots from Bodden and Dowling, the Patriots activated veteran RB Kevin Faulk and second-year defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick. Both players had been on the PUP list but were removed last week and began practicing with the team. Faulk adds a veteran presence to the backfield and should help with pass protection while Deaderick will ease the wear and tear on the defensive linemen by being incorporated into the rotation. … [visit site to read more]Pats Lose Another Corner, Activate Faulk and Deaderick - Musket Fire - Musket Fire - A New England Patriots Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and more.

More than a year after tearing his ACL against the Jets last season, putting his career in jeopardy, Kevin Faulk played last night. The Patriots RB came off the Physically Unable to Perform list, started, and had 11 touches for for 52 yards in the 25-17 loss to Steelers. Still, the good feeling associated with coming back was dampened by the result of the game. Check out my video:
Kevin Faulk was one of the few bright spots for the Pats vs. the Steelers. Photo by Gene J. PuskarI had been curious over the last few weeks as to whether the Patriots’ pass defense was truly improving or they were merely the benefactors of teams that were featuring their running game. The Steelers answered my pondering today by torching the Patriots’ defense through the air...
Quick hit reactions to the Patriots loss to the Steelers
Our pass defense is who they say it is and they will be ripped to shreds this week by anyone who talks about them. Deservedly so. They have to play a lot better, and no one is sure if they really even have the horses to play better.
They still like Kevin Faulk A LOT more than Danny Woodhead. I’m sure they wanted to use Green...
The surprise today was that Patriots CB Ras-I Dowling was placed on Injured Reserve just a day after the team had released CB Leigh Bodden.
After speaking with a source with knowledge of his condition, here is what I can report:
An MRI taken over the past few days revealed that Dowling suffered a torn tendon in his leg. The result was pain in his hip, which is what was stated on...
Patriots fans and even the Patriots players themselves were shocked to learn that the team released CB Leigh Bodden. Bodden played his best football for the team in 2009 when he was on a one-year deal. He signed a 4-year, $22 million deal in 2010 to stay with the Pats. He never got to play in 2010 due to a camp injury and was injured again this season, playing sparingly. When he...
The Patriots pulled a surprise move this morning, releasing veteran CB Leigh Bodden. The former starter, who was to play the “star” position this year, signed a four-year, $22-million contract before 2010, and he will make $3.9 million from the Pats this year if he’s not claimed.
After spending time in the locker room, it’s clear players were shocked. “I heard it in the...

Do Patriots take advantage of Polamalu's aggressiveness? Also, The Kid's big brother, Mortty Ivy, Kevin Faulk.
