With Logan Mankins injured and Matt Light unable to play last Saturday in New England’s win over the Dolphins, the Patriots have made a roster move perhaps to provide an opening to add an offensive lineman. The Patriots announced that DB Ross Ventrone has been released. In addition, the Patriots released DL Cedric McKinley from the practice squad. Mankins suffered a knee injury when Dolphins DE Jared Odrick rolled up on his leg on a play and he did not return. Light meanwhile was a late scratch for Saturday’s game against Miami after reportedly re-aggravating an ankle injury in warmups. He was replaced by rookie Nate Solder.

An update on Patriots G Logan Mankins: Better wait until Monday

Just left the Patriots locker room following the 27-24 win over the Dolphins, and one important topic is the future of Pro Bowl guard Logan Mankins. He went down with a left knee injury early on, forcing more juggling on the offensive line. He took his pants off on the bench, wrapped his knee, and wanted to go back in the game. Coach Bill Belichick wouldn’t let him, however, which...

The left side of the Patriots' offensive line took a serious hit Saturday, but the long-term impact might be minimal. Left guard Logan Mankins has a sprained MCL in his left knee, according to the Boston Herald, and won't play in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Bills. However, Mankins is hoping to return for the playoffs. Since the Patriots have a first-round...

Huge Patriots comeback clinches bye

This may have been the best possible type of game for the Patriots to play heading into the postseason. Down 17-0 at halftime with absolutely nothing working, the Patriots responded with 27 unanswered points by dominating both sides of the ball. New England won 27-24 despite missing both starting tackles. Guard Logan Mankins started at left tackle,…

Arrington, Light, Welker limited

Here’s the Patriots official injury report for Sunday’s season finale with the Bills, with a few notable names on the non-practice and limited practice lists. It had been reported by Boston reporters that Brady missed practice to get x-rays on his non-throwing shoulder, but on the injury report below it read not injury related. Patriots release injury report: QB Tom Brady’s absence was not injury related

The most interesting aspect of the Patriots practice today wasn’t surprising. QB Tom Brady wasn’t at practice, joining OT Sebastian Vollmer and G Logan Mankins. Brady landed hard on his left — non-throwing shoulder — during the win over the Dolphins, and he left the locker room favoring it. Comcast New England’s Tom Curran reported that there is no shoulder separation,...
