The New England Patriots have re-signed wide receiver Deion Branch and signed free agent fullbacks Tony Fiammetta and Spencer Larsen. Branch had 51 catches for 702 yards and five touchdowns last season. He was drafted by the Patriots in 2002, traded to Seattle in 2006 and re-acquired in 2010. He is part of a wide receiver corps that includes recently signed free agents Brandon Lloyd and Anthony Gonzalez. The signings of Fiammetta and Larsen, both about 240 pounds, could signal a shift in the running game to include a blocking back. Fiammetta spent last season with Dallas after two seasons with Carolina. Larsen played fullback and linebacker his first two seasons with Denver and fullback the past two years with the Broncos.

Matt Light's Potential Retirement Looking Like a Real Possibility

FOXBORO, Mass. -- It really sounds like Patriots left tackle Matt Light has played his last down in the NFL. Light, the Patriots' second-round pick in 2001, has one year remaining on his contract, but there's been plenty of speculation that he'd retire this offseason. The Patriots have a pair of young tackles in Nate Solder and Sebastian Vollmer, and while they needed...

Patriots Mailbag: Shane Vereen, Stevan Ridley Expected to Step Up With Departure of BenJarvus Green-Ellis

It's only Friday, and the NFL has already had one of its craziest weeks in the history of crazy week. And in reality, you could have probably said that by midday Wednesday. As such, this is one of the most jam-packed mailbags I've ever had, and we'll hit on most of those issues. Yeah, it centers around the Patriots, but the Saints' scandal kicks it off. Can you talk...

Rush to nowhere: Mark Anderson’s exit leaves hole in the pass rush department

Mark Anderson and Andre Carter changed the dynamic of the New England Patriots defense in 2011. In previous years, the Patriots defense had lacked pass rushing in the deepest way possible.
