The Patriots are down in numbers along their defensive line with DT Myron Pryor being placed on I-R this week and DE Mike Wright (concussion) and DT Albert Haynesworth (out) for today’s game. It could prompt them to resort to their old defensive front. The Patriots for the better part of the last decade have been predominantly a traditional 3-4 front, but they no longer have the top flight talent across the entire front when they had 1st round pick Ty Warren, Richard Seymour and Vince Wilfork. Last season they went to predominantly a 4-3 front and this year it was much of the same as they’ve been in a 3-4 look on just four plays the first two games. But today with just five healthy defensive linemen the Patriots may have to go back to a 3-4 front just from a numbers standpoint. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some 2 down linemen and 5 linebacker looks at times from the Patriots with a couple of LBs dancing around at the line of scrimmage trying to mess up the...
