For a team that was labeled cheap more than once last year, the Patriots at least took care of the top of their roster.
In its annual survey of NFL salaries, USA Today determined that Pats defensive end Richard Seymour was the highest-paid player in the league in 2006, taking home $24.7 million.
Also in the top 10 was quarterback Tom Brady, who ranked No. 6 with a total compensation of $16 million.
