A day after the Raiders were stunned by the Broncos, the team was still trying to understand what went so wrong in a 38-24 loss. Speaking to reporters Monday, head coach Hue Jackson said he and his players were concerned with all that failed when they watched film of Sunday’s loss. The bottom line, he said, was, “We didn’t get it done.” Defensive tackle Richard Seymour echoed Jackson, saying the breakdowns on defense – specifically when the Broncos rushed for 230 yards in the second half – could be attributed to poor execution. Not a poor game plan or bad coaching, but poor execution on the field. “When you don’t execute what the game plan is and taking care of your responsibilities,” he said, “it’s real simple.” But, he added, “It’s easier said than done.” In just two days, however, the 4-4 Raiders have to get back on the right track for a Thursday night game against the 4-4 Chargers. Same old problems plague Raiders

With two consecutive losses to division rivals, a penalty count that's quickly approaching triple digits and a run defense that is among the worst in the NFL, Raiders coach Hue Jackson has a long list of issues that need fixing. He doesn't have much time to get them corrected, either. Oakland has a short work week in preparation for Thursday's night game in San Diego...

Raiders under pressure: Hue Jackson’s esteem, among other things, is on the line

Football players aren’t much different than everybody else–they judge their boss based on results and on consistency. Considering McFadden wasn’t on the field Monday and has made himself scarce since being spotted...

Hue’s honeymoon is over

Apart from the obvious implications of a pair of ugly home losses in a division the Raiders dominated last year, there are clear signs that Oakland coach Hue Jackson has entered the post-honeymoon phase of his career as a head coach. We’ve been hearing increasing chatter via our network of sources regarding a growing perception…

Roles of Heyward-Bey, Boss unclear for Thursday night

On Sunday, Raiders coach Hue Jackson didn’t use receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey and tight end Kevin Boss as extensively as Jackson normally would.  The boss claims that Boss and Heyward-Bey weren’t benched, but the facts suggest otherwise. And it left Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey scratching his head.  “I was totally confused,” Bailey recently told Adam Schein…

Just Balance, Baby!

Every year around this time something happens in the NFL, but not usually in Oakland. Al Davis had a grip on the Raiders for decades so it hadn’t quite taken root until now. The influence of the Head Coach begins to percolate through the team’s play and demeanor. Hue Jackson is making the Raiders an image of himself. Jackson is [...]

Week Ten Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Options

For those of you that have been riding the Tim Tebow train you were rewarded this week with a pretty nice fantasy box score. Two touchdowns, no turnovers and over a 100 yards rushing. Not too shabby for a guy that could have been benched at half time. Tebow has bought himself some more time as a starter so plug him in this week against the Chiefs. There are no teams on bye’s...
