Recent Boston native, Peter King, did a way-too-early ranking of NFL teams this week and put the Patriots at #14 and on the playoff bubble in 2010.  He ranked both the Jets and Dolphins to be better teams than New England next season.  I am not going to point out how wrong Peter is in his assessment of the Patriots team.  I am biased towards the Pats and will always rank them higher than many non-partial writers would be.  Also, that is not the point of this blog. The point is, this type of article would be something that would motivate the Harrison, Seymour, Bruschi, McGinest, Vrabel-led Partiot teams in season’s past.  The “us against the world” mentality was a mainstay of the Patriot teams of the early 2000s.  In fact, there were times that I was convinced these guys just made things up that were never really said to keep them hungry and motivated.
