Some good news coming out of the Eagles press conference today, as it was revealed Jason Peters injury is not thought to be serious.  Reid described the problem as a knee contusion and sprained ankle at his press conference on Monday, and said he expects the left tackle to work through it and be ready to play Monday Night against the Redskins.

This is in conflict with a report filed yesterday by the Associated Press that suggested the Peters injury may have actually been worse than originally feared.  Peters stayed on the sidelines in his pads for the entire game, though he was listed as doubtful to return, while King Dunlap struggled mightily to fill those enormous shoes.

In other injury-related news, Abiamiri went down with a knee sprain and is listed as day-to-day, while Bunkley's injury, a rib contusion, does not appear to be anything major.  Reid was also asked about Todd Herremans, and indicated the left guard may be ready for MNF.

Finally, reporters also inquired as to the possibility of making a trade before tomorrow's 4 p.m. deadline.  Reid indicated they may be in the market, stating "We are keeping our eyes open.  We are looking."

Okay, so that doesn't actually reveal anything, it's a stock Andy Reid answer and PFT ran with it.  At this point, a swap seems highly unlikely.  Florio's post acknowledges the team is interested in replacing Gaither at MLB.  It's obvious after the past two weeks Trotter no longer has any answers there, but it's hard to imagine teams are giving away many players who would make a significant improvement.

With Maclin's increased playing time, Kevin Curtis might be expendable.  We believe, based on his contract and the suddenly crowded wide receiver position, there's a strong chance Curtis would not be back next season anyway, so a trade makes sense if anybody is interested.  Again, it's all just speculation, and deadline deals in the NFL are very rare in the first place.  It's a bit more fun that discussing what just happened though.
