HOUSTON -- Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was arrested and charged with resisting arrest early Saturday morning in Houston, according to Houston Police Department records.
He was held on a 1,000 bond and remained in jail as of early Saturday afternoon, according to the HPD Web site. No other information about the arrest was immediately available. A message left by Fox Sports Houston for a police spokesman was not immediately returned.
The 27-year-old Peterson, who played his college ball at Oklahoma, is from Palestine, Texas, which is about two hours southeast of Dallas and three hours north of Houston. He had reconstructive surgery on his left knee six months ago and is expected to be rehabilitating for another six months.
