The Falcons place cornerback Kelvin Hayden and linebacker Mike Peterson on injured reserve.
Hayden, 6-0, 195 pounds, was originally selected as a second round (60th overall) draft choice by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2005 NFL Draft. He spent six seasons in Indianapolis before signing with the Falcons as a free agent on August 30, 2011. Hayden played in eight games this season, totaling 27 tackles (22 solo) with two interceptions and four passes defensed.
Peterson, 6-1, 226 pounds, was originally selected as a second round (36th overall) draft choice by the Indianapolis Colts in the 1999 NFL Draft. Peterson joined the Falcons as a free agent on March 10, 2008. This season, he has collared 23 tackles (12 solo) with one interception. Peterson ranks among the NFL’s active tackle leaders with 1,607 career tackles.
