The 63,672 people who packed the Metrodome on Sunday left disappointed, as the Vikings fell to 0-3 after losing a close game to the hapless Browns.
Actually, make that 63,673 ...
Cute, but the sentiment goes further than just a simple joke.
Peterson was largely contained by the Browns' underrated front seven, piling up just 88 yards on 25 carries. The superstar running back didn't do much to help quarterback Christian Ponder, who failed took six sacks and tossed an in interception in the 31-27 loss. Things got so bad for Ponder that at one point the fans were chanting for backup Matt Cassel.
Yes, that bad.
Fortunately for the Vikings -- and Peterson's daughter -- their next three games are against teams with a combined record of 1-8 (Steelers, Panthers, Giants), giving them a good chance of ending the losing schneid.
