PLAYERS: Peyton Manning
TEAMS: Denver Broncos
Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos can’t get away from the topic of arm strength since throwing three first-quarter interceptions.
It wasn’t the fact the passes were intercepted it was the way the ball looked when they were.  The ball was anything but a Manning-like spiral and in fact, they wobbled.
Teammate, Brandon Stokley, brought up a good point. “Ya’ll look for something negative after every loss.”
It’s not that we are looking only on a loss, but we are examining Peyton Manning like we are giving him a damn physical. Every time he throws, moves, wipes his ass we are on top of him. Did the ball travel the correct amount of yards, was it a spiral, did it hit the receiver in the hands, is his arm at the correct height, did you see him flinch his neck? The future Hall of Fame quarterback is under a level of examination that not many have ever experienced.… Read more

  • Peyton's done...the Broncos made a huge mistake!!
  • What A GUY!! How long you been around the game of football? The only thing done about Peyton is your feeble opinion of him. What did you think? He would or should win all of the games he plays in Denver? The offensive line has played POORLY. Receivers dropping passes, fumbling the ball away, and with it goes the odds of winning the game. Tune in Monday night, and watch him DESTROY the San Diego defense. The only mistake the Broncos made in signing Manning, was to allow people pleasers like you to follow their team.
  • You got that right. Lost all respect for Elway when he told Bronco fans "Tim Tebow will be the starting QB coming into training camp." At the same time he was shopping Tebow. He never bought in as people say. He couldn't wait to get rid of Tebow. You either believe or you don't. Bottom line, Tebow took over a 1 and 4 team to the playoffs and beat the Steelers. I guess that is how you thank him for his services, trade him.
  • Hey Tebow lover & former fan, glad you abandoned your shallow support for The Broncos. Peyton Manning was NOT AVAILABLE when Elway commented on Timmy's status as a starting QB for the Orange & Blue. Tebow could have stayed here, but he chose the Jets, and he IS NOT STARTING there. All you Tebow lovers conveniently forget he LOST four of the last five games he played for the Broncos! Denver was 8-5 with three games left last season. One win and we are the AFC West Champs. Timmy SUCKED in all three starts, and in the FINAL game of the season AT HOME, he LOST to Kyle Orton (the guy he replaced as starter) and the Chiefs, 7-3???? Timmy is a good football player, and a HORRIBLE QB. Even the stumblin' bumblin' big mouthed Rex Ryan knows that. When the Broncos win the Super Bowl with Peyton Manning, we don't want BOZO's like you cheering on our team. Why don't you go to NY and watch Timmy ATTEMPT to pass down field. I am sick of your fantasy that Tebow is a starting QB in the NFL... HE AIN'T!!!
  • tosstheloss...you obviously drink the Elway/Bowlen kool-aide, or haven't been around the game for long yourself. First, the Broncos DID NOT give Tebow the opportunity to stay here. I am quite sure that if given the opportunity to learn to be a "pocket passer" underneath two of the greatest QB's to play the game, he would have jumped at it. Make that up to make yourself feel better about your unscrupulous dolts leading the team? Second, let me bring up the fact that most of those games where we made a strong comeback toward the end of the game (much like this year) were actually WON by the Broncos under Tebow's leadership, which is more then we can say for this years team. Nope, Elway never liked Tebow and wanted to purge him (much like Josh Daniels and the talent he ran off) and I believe he felt he was quickly becoming the #2 QB in Denver, which he would have none of.
Elway used to be my favorite from the days at Stanford to this year. Lost all respect for the man and as far as I am concerned, he can get the Hell out of Denver. Bowlen has shown his colors...it's not how you play the game, it's all about money. Well, he will get no more of my money.
  • There is nothing wrong with Manning. Denver has an experienced, great quarterback. After watching the last game it looks like the offensive line needs to to a better job of protection and the receivers need to catch the football, especially when it is right at them.
  • Peyton is the best thing that has happened to this failure of a ballclub since Elway.
  • This guy is a fool. Peyton is the best thing the Broncos since Jake Plummer ( We almost went to the S Bowl under Jake loosing to the champs from Pitt in the AFC championship game) This guy is probably a Tebow fan, move to Tebow land and keep your lip closed. I think we will be fine, we lost to really good teams that will make the playoffs. Hang in there Real Bronco fans!!
  • Jake Liquid Plummer went down the drain not a moment too soon. Never put that waste of a draft pick in the same category with the best QB Denver has seen since the super bowl days of old. Peyton has a history of playing the way that he is playing right now, but also remember that he cannot catch the ball as well. He is coming off a year of not having taken a snap, and he will be just fine. A lot of people will shut up when the Broncos win the super bowl this year
  • Manning is the best thing that has happened to this team since Elway was on it.
STFU the rest of you sub standard players and sit back and watch and learn from somebody who actually knows how to play the game without running his mouth about everything.
If the team lost, it is the fault of the entire team, not one person.
    Wake up people.
  • Peyton done? He's the #2 passer so far in the league with a 66% completion rating (and would have been higher if passes weren't dropped. Done? Really? And as far as Tebow, Elway was right to get rid of him. My 8 year old grandson passes better than him. Tebow's a nice guy and I wish him success but glad it's not with the Broncos.
  • All you Broncomaniacs keep hedging your bets on the 90 million wonder boy. At the end of the season he'll be sent to the Cleveland Clowns and Elway will be back selling you all cars and you donkey fans will still be paying too much to go see the game. Hey maybe you can talk Pat into putting in a Victoria Secrets there, something better to look at than a washed up has-been. Some of you have been playing fantasy football for too long. • Bigboltz, you almost got it right. Only the other way. Your Victoria Secret panties must have been too tight

NFL Scout: “Peyton Manning can’t throw the ball anymore.”

With the Denver Broncos now off to a 1-2 to start, people have noticed that Peyton Manning isn’t getting the ball out of his hands the way he used too.  In his defense though, he’s still rehabbing, so we know he’s not 100 percent healthy. One NFL scout told Albert Breer of the NFL Network that “Peyton Manning can’t throw the ball anymore.” I think that’s a little harsh...

Manning will still challenge Texans defense

HOUSTON Wade Phillips took a preemptive strike at the "Peyton Manning is finished" angle Thursday. "I know it's going to be asked so I'm going to go ahead and make my statement," the Houston Texans defensive coordinator said. "Peyton Manning looks like the same guy he's always been." No sense poking the bear, even if it does have a neck...

Ron Jaworski says the ball isn’t coming out of Peyton Manning’s hand with a little wobble

During today’s Sportscenter, ESPN’s Ron Jaworski said that he’s concerned with the way the ball is coming out of the hand of Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. “It’s still a work in progress,” said Jaworski, via ProFootballTalk.com. “And we have to remember Peyton is still going through therapy to get his arm strength to 100 percent. The only thing that really bothers...

Schaub outplays Manning, Texans top Broncos 31-25

For Peyton Manning's detractors, there are no interceptions to analyze this time, no one or two ill-conceived throws to pick apart. There is, however, another loss to dissect, along with the makings of a pattern the Broncos certainly don't want to prolong: Start slow, finish fast, talk about what might have been. The latest defeat came Sunday at the hands of Houston quarterback...

not so easy in the Big Easy

Everybody knew that Peyton Manning is great, but perhaps it took us witnessing the team without him last year to realize just how valuable he is. We are getting the same thing this year with the other Payton (with an “a”), Sean, the coach of the Saints. In a season already filled with surprises, the biggest shocker in Week 3 is the same thing from the opener, how disappointing...

Texans Take Down Manning; Locker and MJD lead Titans, Jags

The Texans went to Denver and knocked off Peyton Manning, while Jake Locker obliterated the Lions' pass defense Maurice Jones-Drew made ran all over Indy.

Schaub outduels Manning, Texans move to 3-0

Top 10 NFL Quarterbacks All Time – Did Manning and Brady Make List?

Let me preface this list with a few quick notes.  Guys you won’t see on my list because I never saw them are Johnny Unitas, Otto Graham, Bart Starr, Sid Luckman, Sammy Baugh, Norm Van Brocklin and Y.A. Tittle.  These guys played in black and white and are in another, much older class.  I am also omitting some of the new guys that may make the list some day like Aaron Rodgers...

Hilarious outtakes from those fairy-themed NFL Sunday Ticket commercials

By now, we’ve all seen the commercials for DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket. They’re everywhere. (via daylife.com) The spots feature Deion Sanders, joined this season by Peyton & Eli Manning, as tiny fairy versions of themselves, spreading the gospel of the Sunday Ticket. And while the concept itself is fairly ridiculous, the campaign has allowed its stars to show off their...

Houston Texans Look Great In The Mile High City - The Houston…

Houston Texans Look Great In The Mile High City - The Houston Texans might just be the best team in the NFL. They sure looked like it on Sunday in Denver. Houston jumped out to a 31-11 lead against the Broncos on Sunday, then with stood a late comeback attempt by Broncos QB Peyton Manning to hold on and win 31-25. Few teams in the NFL have the kind of balanced offense that the...

Schaub outduels Manning in Texans' victory

DENVER -- Matt Schaub outdueled Peyton Manning even as he fought through a physical pounding that cost him a little piece of his ear. Schaub matched a career best by throwing for four touchdown passes, and the Houston Texans held off the Denver Broncos 31-25 Sunday for the first 3-0 start in the team's 10-year history. Shaking off a sack in the end zone that resulted in...

Falcons are shaping up as well as any team

It's only three games in, but right now the Atlanta Falcons look as if they are as good as any team in the NFL. With new offensive and defensive coordinators, their makeover appears a success as they improved to 3-0 on Sunday by putting a 27-3 thumping on San Diego, one of only six remaining unbeaten teams in the league. Sunday had set up as a classic "letdown" game...

5 things to beat the Colts

Irony is part of the NFL. The Jaguars struggled through much of the Jack Del Rio era chasing the Colts. Now that Peyton Manning is gone, the Jaguars have yet to lose to the Colts under Blaine Gabbert. Oh the irony. Here's 5 quick things that the Jaguars can do to keep the streak going. 1) Defense (again)Once again, it's all about the defense. Hopefully they decide to show...
