It used to be Dallas Clark, Peyton Manning used to look for in tough situations in Indianapolis. However, When Dallas Clark went down with a season ending injury in 2010 and Jacob Tamme stepped in with 631 yard and 4 touchdowns. When Manning moved on to Denver, he made sure he would bring his talented young tight end. The tight end position to Manning is as important as any on offense. He uses the tight end inline, or flexed out in the slot and it allows him to audible into routes that get chunks of yards. Manning talked about the importance of Tamme to the offense and to him. “So much for us, in what we do, is how do they play Tamme,” Manning said. “Some teams treat him like a receiver and some teams treat him like a tight end, so you kind of find that out, see how they handle him in the formation. He kind of makes them, the way he plays and how he plays, have that discussion and we see where that takes us,” according to Jeff Legwold of the denverpost.com. “Tamme is essentially a slot guy, I guess that’s how I look at him,” Manning said. “But he’s bigger than a lot of receivers and he runs good routes, catches the ball. So, defenses have to have that discussion about how to handle him.”   var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
