I'll be honest with you. I am pretty much done with all the fuss surrounding Peyton Manning at the moment. I understand that a lot of it is not his fault, and he is the biggest free agent name out there at the moment; but did I read that ESPN even had a helicopter following Manning's car earlier this week? What bothers me about all this frenzy surrounding Manning is the fact that everyone seems to assume that he'll be the starting quarterback for whichever team he decides to sign with.  Is it crazy of me to think that he should at least earn that right? Perhaps a good old training camp battle to win the job is in order. And yes, as I was reminded earlier on twitter, Manning is a future hall of fame quarterback. And that surely must be reason enough for him to assume the role of number one QB for his new team, right? As it stands currently, there are three teams left in the running for Manning. The Tennessee Titans, along with the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers...

  • It is crazy for you to expect Peyton Manning to compete for the starting quarterback position.

I have watched him since he was drafted by Indy in 1998 and there is not one player in all of football heaven that can come close to his skill and command of the game. The rest of the team should have to compete to play with HIM.

Titans pursuit of Manning could prove costly

The lure of returning to the state where he was a college football legend was not enough. And now the Tennessee Titans have to plan for the aftermath of missing out on Peyton Manning as well as number of other free agents, who could have provided the Titans with much needed help but signed elsewhere while the Titans pursued Manning. When owner Bud Adams stepped in and publicly...

How many former Colts will join Peyton Manning with the Denver Broncos?

The Peyton Manning Sweepstakes appear to be over with the news on Monday that the veteran quarterback is going to join the Denver Broncos. The next question is now going to be, how many of Manning’s former team mates from the Indianapolis Colts will join him on the Denver Broncos? There are plenty of them available. Wide receivers Pierre Garcon and Reggie Wayne jumped...

Report: Peyton Manning Signs 5-Year, $96 Million Deal

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos have agreed to terms on a five-year, $96 million contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Shefter. While the report is missing a key ingredient—guaranteed money—which will determine the real value of the deal, it’s highly unlikely Manning will actually receive $96 million over five years in Denver. The inevitable first-ballot Hall of Famer...

Mario Manningham Signs 2 Year Deal

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the 49ers and Mario Manningham have agreed on a 2 year deal. No word on the specifics of the deal. With the addition of Manningham, do the 49ers still have enough cap space to sign Peyton Manning and if so does the addition of Manningham help get Manning to SF. Either way after less than a week into free agency, the 49ers wide receiving core has...

Peyton Manning, Broncos to Visit Tom Brady's Patriots in 2012

While the rivalry between the Patriots and Colts has gone cold, quarterbacks Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will rekindle their battle in 2012. Manning will sign with the Broncos on Monday, according to an array of reports, which means he'll be visiting Gillette Stadium next season. The NFL will release its schedule at some point in late April, but the Patriots are already slated...

Manning’s Choices Narrow

Peyton Manning’s options have been become more clear over the last few days and we are getting closer to finding out who will have the future Hall of Famer under center. One team may surprise you! The possibilities reported early on included teams on either coast, in america’s heartland, and a one a mile high! I can imagine that 2/3′s of the league at least considered if it...

Peyton Manning to the Denver Broncos: Denver’s draft priorities in 2012

Finally, Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning made his decision. It likely stemmed from his friendship with Hall of Fame QB and Denver Broncos executive John Elway. The Denver Broncos give Peyton Manning a great shot to win, but they must address some needs moving forward. The Tennessee Titans looked like the best fit for Peyton Manning. The blind side of their offensive...

Packers Liked Tebow But Trade Seems Unlikely

With Denver's $96 million signing of Peyton Manning, love-him-or-hate-him quarterback Tim Tebow is on the trading block. Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy spoke highly of Tebow at the 2010 Scouting Combine, and for good reason, but we tell you why a deal will not be made in this analysis.

Manning deal a fearless play by Elway

As Tebowmania grew last season into a full-blown phenomenon, John Elway's obvious indifference to his pop-icon quarterback never seemed to change. Some interpreted this as a sign that Elway's personnel opinions were not driven by results -- Denver was winning games, after all -- as much as his ego and some weird sense of rivalry with Tim Tebow, who was suddenly more popular...

John Elway seems pleased with Peyton Manning’s work out

Denver Broncos executive vice president John Elway took the time to post his thoughts on Twitter, of Peyton Manning’s work out at Duke this afternoon. “We enjoyed visiting with Peyton today in N.C. He threw the ball great and looked very comfortable out there,” tweeted Elway. Jim Harbaugh and the San Francisco 49ers also came away pleased with Manning’s work out when they...

Tebow… A Bengal?

I have another submission for the growing stack of proof that Mike Florio is flat nuts. With Denver winning the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, the Broncos will be looking to unload Tebow pronto. Last night, Florio floated the idea that the Bengals might be a good fit for him. What?!?! Maybe Florio just needed another team [...]

Jaws says Peyton Manning was never in the Eagles' plan...so concentrate on the back seven on D...

I have to admit, it was exciting to play the "guess where Peyton will land?" game... but now it's over, and I'm glad for that. What a colossal distraction!I managed to catch up with Ron Jaworski ("Jaws"), and he affirmed my belief that the Peyton Maning signing by the Broncos has little or no effect upon the Eagles' 2012 plans... and according to Jaws...

Tebow sweepstakes could include Jags, Phins

Let the Tim Tebow sweepstakes begin. With Peyton Manning supplanting Tebow as Denver's starting quarterback, other teams have discussed acquiring the unconventional Tebow from the Broncos, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets, according to an ESPN.com report. Among those teams, one league source categorized the Jets as "...
