VP John Elway wants to step up the work ethic in Denver, and he wants Peyton Manning to lead the charge.
In military training exercises, the training is done under the most intense circumstances to increase the ability to endure and overcome.
It’s similar in football, the harder the practice, the more prepared the team is come game time.
Manning is one of the hardest working players in the NFL, and his comeback from neck surgery showed not only toughness, but courage. Elway wants those elements instilled into his team, physical and mental toughness.
"I know that John Elway wants to sort of set a kind of an attitude and an edge around here — kind of an uncomfortable atmosphere around here which is something I believe in," Manning said, via Lindsay H. Jones of USA Today. "Last year was good, but it wasn't great.
We're looking for that great season and to finish off with a championship season. We have so much work that we have to do."
