According to brother Eli, he might. The Giants Quarterback gave an interview to USA Today, in which the issue of Peyton returning to action this season came up. According to Eli, his brother may be back this season, although nothing is certain yet. Eli said he wasn’t sure it was a wise idea for his brother to return and that he expected him to be back in action next year. Eli also said that his brother was a quick healer and that he was really itching to be back in the midst of it. He was definitely analyzing every possibility and looking into all the opportunities to return to doing what he loves as soon as possible.
While the possibility of Peyton returning to the Indianapolis Colts lineup is quite intriguing indeed, one can’t help but wonder, would it really help the Colts? After all, the team’s dismal performance thus far this season has positioned it perfectly to grab Stanford’s Andrew Luck with the top pick in April. Such an addition to the team would indeed be nothing short of sensational and the odds of it coming together grow better with every single trouncing the Colts suffer.
Peyton’s potential return could spoil all that. It would make perfect sense for him to return to help a mid-tier team make its way into the playoffs, but running a potentially perfect 0-14 record for the Colts that would hand them the above said opportunity on a silver platter, would be a major mistake. Add to all that the fact that he would probably risk a lot health-wise too – he might even put his career on the line – and you have the obvious answer: he will probably not return this season, regardless of how badly he wants to be out there. There’s no point in gambling like a couple of poker props when his career or even life may be at stake.
