The Philadelphia Eagles were supposed to be the NFL’s “dream team,” but by season’s end reality revealed that such a designation was just that—nothing more than a dream. The Eagles came out flat, struggling on offense and defense while the players they acquired in the offseason to earn that “dream team” contributed minimally for Philadelphia. The defense sputtered under the guidance of former offensive line coach and new defensive coordinator Juan Castillo. Meanwhile, the enigmatic Michael Vick was hit hard with injuries that hampered his play throughout the season. As a result, the Eagles limped through the first three quarters of the season at 4-8. Shockingly, the Eagles rallied to win their final four games and narrowly missed stealing the NFC East title—no thanks to the Dallas Cowboys, who completed a late-season collapse with a 31-14 loss to the New York Giants and eliminated the Eagles from contention. Entering this season, the Eagles will seek to capitalize on those final fou...
