Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired linebacker DeMeco Ryans from the Houston Texans for a fourth-round draft pick.
The teams will also swap third-round draft picks in this year's draft.
Ryans, a two-time Pro Bowler, recorded 64 tackles through 16 games for the Texans last season after seeing his playing time diminish under new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips' 3-4 scheme.
A former second-round draft choice by Houston in 2006, Ryans recorded over 100 tackles and did not miss a game in each of his first four seasons with the Texans before missing 10 contests in the 2010 campaign after tearing the Achilles tendon in his left heel.
