Philadelphia Eagles Extend Wide Receiver AJ Brown
USA Today Sports

Less than an hour before the draft, the Eagles gave wide receiver AJ Brown a 3-year, $96 million contract extension. This comes after speculation of a possible AJ Brown trade on draft night but the Eagles stay consistent in paying top players. Brown will now be on contract until 2029 and has $84 million guaranteed which is the most in the league.

AJ Brown Extends His Stay In Philidelphia For 3 More Years

Browns deal now takes over as the highest-paid receiver in the league, surpassing Tyreek Hill and recently extended Amon-Ra St. Brown. The Eagles have made it clear that they will continue to pay any money they can for their star players. He has continued to be one of the best in the league since first arriving in Tennesee back in 2019.

Brown was flipped to the Eagles during the NFL Draft just a couple of years ago and since arriving in Philly he’s been elite. Brown is coming off a season where he racked up 1,456 yards and a career-high 106 receptions. Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown have built an incredibly strong connection over the last couple of seasons.

Brown had a very tumultuous last season despite the great numbers he was visibly upset with the Eagles. He repeated over time that he wanted to be in Philly but his frustration left some doubt. Now Brown and the Eagles double down on it as they reach a deal both will benefit from. This is a well-earned contract for the superstar receiver as he and the Eagles look to bounce back from the rough 2023 season.
