LeSean “Shady” McCoy was absent from tonight’s starting lineup, but you wouldn’t have remembered that the way Philadelphia Eagles’ running backs Bryce Brown, and Chris Polk played tonight in the first quarter. Polk had a nice few carries from the early going to help set up a 43 yard bomb to DeSean Jackson.
Polk has had an outstanding training camp and has really impressed the coaches. Running back coach Duce Staley had praised Polk around the same time last season, just before he suffered a torn ACL. There were even questions of whether Polk would make the squad after the signing of former Cowboys running back, Felix Jones. So far so good for Polk, and the running back core for gang green.
As for Bryce Brown, he scored the only rushing touchdown for the birds in the first half. with happy feet if i do say so myself. Him and Polk, if both make the team, could run a three-headed monster with Shady.
The notorious song to parents over the age of fifty, which would be Eminem’s “Hi My Name Is” relates to Philadelphia Eagles’ halfback, LeSean McCoy. However, Shady is not known for his nickname through Marshall Mathers’ song, but through a random nickname his mother gave him as a baby. That being said, the “odd” situation could be as far as selecting who the third running back will be. Though, that is a positive problem to have. There may be a reuniting of a three-monster running back core from 2003 (Westbrook, Staley, Buckhalter).

Presumed starting Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick did nothing to give his job away to Nick Foles, completing four of his five pass attempts for 94 yards and no INTs, including a nice deep 47-yard pass to receiver DeSean Jackson, who had Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib dead to rights, resulting in the team's first TD of the night.
Vick made way for Nick Foles to...
Here's some notes and observations on the Philadelphia Eagles' first game under Chip Kelly, as they took on the New England Patriots at Lincoln Financial Field. They Get an A: It's amazing how much more fluid Michael Vick looks with a healthy offensive line. His strikes on the first two drives seemed comfortable and crisp. Other than a fumble that can hardly be blamed on...
First year Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly may need to step away from the college mentality a little.
Kelly has refused to name a starting quarterback throughout training camp.
So when Michael Vick was penned as the preseason opener’s starter on Friday night against New England, it looked like an answer may have finally been hinted.

Silly people are panicking over the Eagles' new defensive look just 'cause they got gashed on the first two series in their very first preseason game in 2013.
Of course the fact that Tom Brady was the opposing QB and the fact that the Eagles were tackling to the ground for the first time in 2013 didn't seem to register with the critics.
Coach Chip Kelly did set...
Here it is, the first Eagles touchdown of the 2013 season. On the Eagles first drive in Preseason Week 1, Michael Vick connects with DeSean Jackson for a 47-yard touchdown.
Michael Vick will start for the Philadelphia Eagles in their preseason opener against New England on Friday night because coach Chip Kelly says it's his turn to go first in the quarterback rotation.
Nick Foles also will take snaps with the starters, and Kelly says the second-year pro will start the second preseason game. Both Vick and Foles are expected to get between 12 and...
Eagles head coach Chip Kelly announced today that Michael Vick will start this week’s preseason game. Nick Foles is also expected to get the start next week.
Kelly also stated that Vick and Foles will alternate with the first team offense in the first quarter.
Kelly is obviously making it clear that he’s not ready to name his starter for the upcoming season, despite the fact...
DeSean Jackson caught Michael Vick's pass over the middle, took a couple steps and braced himself for a hit that Kurt Coleman never delivered.
Hard to break the habit.
Jackson and the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles have nothing to worry about this training camp. Tackling is a no-no for coach Chip Kelly.
''We have four preseason games for that,'' Kelly said...

When Andy Reid talks about how highly he thinks of Alex Smith, he’s not just blowing smoke. He really means it. The Kansas City Chiefs traded a second-round pick in this year’s draft and a third-round pick in the 2014 draft to the San Francisco 49ers to acquire Smith earlier this offseason. It sounds like [...]

Chip Kelly’s Eagles are set to debut tonight against the Patriots in Game 1 of NFL preseason action. This is probably the most anticipated first preseason game in Philadelphia in the past 14 years.
Since the day Kelly was hired to reshape the team, he has steadfastly rebuked any notion that he was married to the read-option offense. He has...
In our piece about Jamaal Charles we discussed how the arrival of Andy Reid would benefit him as a receiver and a fantasy producer in general, so in recognizing it is a bit of a 180 to talk about how Reid’s departure will have a positive impact on LeSean McCoy, we’re going to do it anyway. Stay with me. Make no mistake, the Reid years were good to McCoy. In 2010, he finished...
