Just two days after announcing that defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley was lost for the season with a torn elbow ligament, Philly.com is reporting that Bunkley’s injury is not as serious as thought. He will not have surgery, and although his elbow is swelling, the pain is manageable, and Bunkley has a chance to play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. If Bunkley cannot play, rookie Jeff Owens will be promoted from the practice squad. Quarterback Michael Vick has not started throwing yet and is still not practicing. He will almost certainly miss Sunday’s game, which would give Kolb his third start of the season. Offensive tackle Jason Peters has a torn meniscus and will have surgery tomorrow. He will miss at least one game. King Dunlap, who gave up three sacks last week against the 49ers, will start in his place.
