The signing of the 2012 draft picks began on Tuesday for the Philadelphia Eagles. LB Mychal Kendricks (5’11, 239) became the first member the Eagles 2012 rookie class to come to terms with the team. On Tuesday, the he signed a 4-year deal with the team.
Kendricks was the 46th overall pick in last month’s draft. Head coach Andy Reid says that Kendricks will play as strongside linebaker and is expected to help the Eagles with the struggles they had defending against productive tight ends.
The final season at California ended with Kendricks being named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. He played in every game during his 4-year college career, earning 258 tackles, 36.5 tackles for a loss, 13.5 sacks, seven fumble recoveries, four interceptions, one touchdown return, and a blocked punt.
