Robert Griffin hasn’t seen game action in about nine months, and it was quite evident last night. The Washington Redskins had three first quarter turnovers last night in their 33-27 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Yeah the Eagles offense looked good, but the Redskins look awful. If you turn over the ball three times in the first quarter you leave the door open for the opposing team to run a large amount of plays and that is exactly what happened. Here comes my rant. Washington will need Griffin and the entire offense to be better at the start next week (Photo: Alex Brandon / Associated Press) That 2 and a half quarter long abominable performance the Washington Redskins called offense was absolutely awful. I understand Robert Griffin is rusty, but come on. The offensive line was not effective, the wide receivers dropped a few easy passes (Josh Morgan) and my favorite Redskin Alfred Morris probably had the worst night of all the Redskins. He fumbled twice, the first happened of the very first offensive play. The second was a result of a poor toss from RGIII and Morris should have handled, but didn’t and the Redskins conceded a safety and at this point it was evident the old Redskins were back. For all the die hard Redskins fans, we have seen the same movie before. Now I should give credit where credit is due, Shady McCoy was fantastic and Mike Vick executed Chip Kelly’s game plan from the get-go. The Redskins defense was able to slow down the read option attack in the second half and allowed the Redskins to claw their way back into the game. If you watched this football game, it was not a 33-27 football game. The Redskins did not deserve to be even close in that game, and it never felt like they were. The Skins’ need to clean it up. No drops, lessen penalties, wrap up on defense(Baccari Rambo) and secure the football. What happened last night was not a coaching error, it was a failure to execute that is absolutely unacceptable in the National Football League. The Redskins need to execute, because next week when they travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers, there is no margin for error. If we see this Redskins team next week, it will be impossible to walk out of there with anything by a 24 point plus loss.
