After what seemed like six weeks, the Eagles return to action this Sunday night against the dreaded Dallas Cowboys. There are many questions leading into this game that concern the fate of the Eagles season and Andy Reid’s job status. Winning can cool a bunch of tempers. Especially the tempers of the fans that have seen this team fall flat on its face four times this season.

History says the Eagles will win this weekend. Under Andy Reid, the Eagles are  a perfect 12-0 after the bye week. A win this week would put the Eagles at 3-4 and right back into the division race.

Eagles Offense vs. Cowboys Defense:

The Eagles will have a big test offensively this weekend against the Cowboys. Rob Ryan’s 3-4 defense features DeMarcus Ware and Sean Lee, who are some of the best defensive players in the league. The Eagles offensive line better bring their “A” game or Michael Vick could find himself on his back  after every play.

If the offensive line can buy Vick some time, the Eagles could have some opportunities for big plays down the field. The Cowboys secondary has been shaky. The key will be making linebacker Sean Lee a non factor.

Running the football could prove to be very difficult for the Eagles. The Cowboys have been very good against the run this season and will probably continue that trend this Sunday.

Edge: Even

Eagles Defense vs. Cowboys Offense:

Has the Eagles defense improved? Or were the Redskins that bad? That remains the question heading into this weeks game. Tony Romo and the Cowboys offense has been hot and cold all season. Hopefully, this is another one of their “cold” games.

The Cowboys hold the key to the Eagles defense. That is tight end Jason Witten. The Eagles have always struggled against good tight ends. This weekend, they’re playing against one of the best. The Eagles linebackers better grow up fast or it could be a long night for the Eagles defense.

Edge: Cowboys

Prediction: Cowboys 31 Eagles 27

I just have a bad feeling about this game. Sunday night against the Cowboys with a chance to climb back into the division race. To me, it just seems like a perfect Philadelphia disaster. Hopefully not, because us Philly fans have suffered enough heartbreak over the past couple of weeks *ahem* Phillies.
