The dust has begun to settle after the deep cuts to the Philadelphia Eagles roster, as well as a release of an updated depth chart late on Friday evening. Much of what transpired was predictable but there are always surprises. Here is the 53-man roster and related notes and comments.
The players are listed according to the latest depth chart.
Quarterback: Mike Vick, Nick Foles, Trent Edwards
Foles took the preseason by storm and won the #2 spot, and Edwards did much the same to earn himself a spot on the roster as the #3 QB.
Wide receiver: Starters – DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin; 2nd: Damaris Johnson and Jason Avant; 3rd – Riley Cooper
Johnson caused a stir with the Eagles since OTAs and didn’t let up a lick in the preseason. Interesting that, at least for now, he beat out Cooper on the depth chart.
