Found April 28, 2012 on Philly Sports Muse:
The number 20 will not be worn by a Philadelphia Eagles player ever again. The Eagles announced on Saturday that they will retire the number worn by legendary corner Brian Dawkins, who announced his retirement from the NFL earlier this week. Dawk joins only 7 other players in Eagles history to have their numbers retired, including Reggie White and Jerome Brown. The jersey will be retired on September 30 at a halftime ceremony at the Linc, during a nationally televised game against the Giants. Want more Philly Sports Muse? Report: Brian Dawkins will retire as an Eagle

The player that still remains in the hearts of all Eagles fans is coming home.  According to Jeff McLane of the Inquirer, Brian Dawkins, who announced his retirement last week, will sign a one day contract and retire as an Eagle.  Dawkins had been with the Broncos for the last three seasons but will certainly be better remembered for being the anchor of the Eagles defense through...

Denver Broncos sign ten undrafted free agents

The Denver Broncos have concluded making selections in the 2012 NFL Draft (class here), and recently finished signing undrafted rookie free agents (UDFAs).  In a post-draft press conference, Brian Xanders stated that the team has filled their roster by signing ten UDFAs. Some names are still coming in, but here’s a list of the reported signings: Jamie Blatnick, DE (OSU). Elliot...

Eagles draft QB Foles: Trade bait or Vick’s replacement?

With the 88th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Nick Foles, quarterback out of Arizona.  For some this came as a surprise.  Why would the Eagles take a QB in the third round?  They already have Michael Vick and a capable backup in Mike Kafka?  Was Foles taken as future trade bait or

Denver Broncos Draft Derek Wolfe, DT in Second Round

Derek Wolfe poses for a headshot during the NFL Scouting Combine on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, in Indianapolis. (AP Photo/Ben Liebenberg) The Denver Broncos have selected Derek Wolfe with the 36th pick of the 2012 NFL Draft. Defensive Tackle was a position the whole world saw as a need for the Broncos and in spite of the misdirection John Elway threw around in various interviews in...

Philadelphia Eagles: NFL Draft news and notes

One round down, six round to go. Tonight is the second and third rounds of the NFL Draft, which I can guarantee will be more interesting than the first round. The first round of the draft is usually pretty obvious with little to no surprises. While I was wrong with what player I thought the Eagles would select, I did get the position correct. The Philadelphia Eagles traded up to...

Snopp Dogg gave Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hill his start.

For years Snoop Dogg has provided California children with the ability to play football that would not have had that chance otherwise. Please click the link to read of this article and watch a video of Snoop's football league.

Eagles fan at the draft has a freakishly large head!

This Philadelphia Eagles fan must be extremely smart! I hate to be mean but you have to check out the huge dome on this Eagles fan that was captured live on TV during the 2nd round of the NFL draft. I am not sure if it is the camera angle or the lighting, but it looks like this guys head is disproportionately larger than the rest of his body…like twice as big as it should...

Broncos’ McGahee No. 98 in NFLN’s Top 100

The NFL’s network, in a desperate attempt to mention Tim Tebow and generate attention, is releasing it’s Top 100 Players of 2012, as supposedly voted by the players.  On Saturday evening, NFLN released rankings 91-through-100. One member of the Denver Broncos has already made the list, veteran running back Willis McGahee.  Somewhat amusingly, McGahee is ranked higher than...

Eagles 2012 NFL Draft Day 3 Round-up

The Eagles wrapped up their draft with 5 more selections on Sunday, going for depth at several positions.  Here is a look at each player the Eagles selected:Round 4, Pick 28 (123): Brandon Boykin, CB, GeorgiaThe Eagles may have found their slot corner.  Boykin is another great athlete, one who should compete right away for a starting spot in the Eagles secondary.  A dynamic kick...

Philadelphia Eagles select Mychal Kendricks, Grade A

The Philadelphia Eagles got one of the best players on the board and filled an immediate need with this selection. I’m not sure if Mychal Kendricks will play weak-side or strong-side linebacker, but he could be an upgrade at either position. Considering Brian Rolle’s breakout year in 2011, the strong-side may be the best place for him.

Is Trent Edwards’ career in Philadelphia over before it begins?

Last season, the Philadelphia Eagles inked a one-year deal with QB Vince Young as a back-up quarterback. Young made news prior to the start of the season by proclaiming that the Eagles would be the 2011 Dream Team of the NFL. Both Young and the Eagles underachieved last season while Young was shown the door and remains unemployed. Philadelphia reached out in the offseason and added...

Draft dream scenario comes true for Osweiler

Before the Denver Broncos inked free agent and future Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning, the AFC West champions were showing great interest in former ASU signal caller Brock Osweiler. Evident by their second round draft selection tonight, that interest never waned despite the Broncos’ colossal signing.

Eagles Select LB, DE, and QB on Day 2 of the Draft

Per an official release from the Philadelphia Eagles, here is a summary of the team's selections and moves from Day 2 of the 2012 NFL Draft. The Eagles' selections in the 2nd and 3rd rounds: The Philadelphia Eagles made the following moves last night: ·         Selected LB Mychal Kendricks (2nd round - 46th overall) ·         Traded the 51st pick to the...

Defensive Playmakers Leaving Juan Castillo, Eagles With No Excuses on Defense

As Eagles fans, we have absolutely no reason to be excited about this draft. We’ve been here many times before haven’t we? Matt McCoy, Jerome McDougle, Broderick Bunkley, Trevor Laws, Nate Allen, Jaqwuan Jarrett (and countless others). These guys were all high draft picks, and supposed to be impact players–difference makers. They were far from either. So why does this years...

College Free Agents: Gerell Robinson, WR, Arizona State

Gerell Robinson poses for a headshot during the NFL Scouting Combine on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, in Indianapolis. (AP Photo/Ben Liebenberg) The Denver Broncos picked up Gerell Robinson soon after the 2012 NFL Draft ended.  College Free Agents mostly don’t make NFL rosters, but with this guy the Broncos are hoping for the next Rod Smith. Robinson was my third favorite sleeper wide...
