Finally, Philadelphia Eagles football is back! And, the big question was answered as to who would be the starting quarterback with Michael Vick. However, Vick being number one wasn’t the full answer. Philadelphia Eagles’ head coach Chip Kelly stated that Nick Foles will equally split reps with Vick. Keep in mind, that running back LeSean McCoy did not start tonight. So, Vick did not have his safety valve in which to begin with. Though, Vick having his safety valve did not matter in the first offensive drive for the birds tonight. Picture perfect drive as they drove 77 yards with a 43 yard bomb to DeSean Jackson. The pass couldn’t have been thrown any better. His second drive resulted in a punt, but only misplaced one pass low and away. Regardless, he did look sharp in his debut. Also, for the first time in almost ever in the history of the National Football League, Tim Tebow was not the main attraction. There was almost little to none talk of Tebow on sports talk radio this entire week. Refreshingly, this was a change of pace. Kelly did put in Foles for the third offensive series, but Foles turned over the ball with a hit from behind. Aside from the fact that the call was technically not a fumble (If the arm is coming forward while the ball is being released, it is not a fumble), Jason Peters was not in uniform due to a pulled hamstring. Lane Johnson did have a solid debut at tackle. Week two  of the 2013 preseason has yet to be determined as to whom the quarterback will be, but all signs point to Vick after a stellar preseason individual start. The offense was very hyped up to be a speedy offense without a huddle, but the offense did in fact huddle on the fly with loud communication amongst the group.
