Earlier this week the Philadelphia Eagles worked out former Buffalo Bills QB Trent Edwards. Incumbent second-stringer Vince Young is due to become a free agent in the offseason, and based upon a lackluster season as the Eagles backup signal caller, it is unlikely he will remain with the club. Third string quarterback Mike Kafka is under contract for two more years at very reasonable salaries, but he is still inexperienced. For a team like the Eagles who have an immensely talented starting quarterback, but a QB whose style is not conducive to playing an entire 16 game schedule, it is imperative to have a quality replacement waiting in the wings. Based on their performances in real-time action in 2011, the immediate answer is neither Vince Young nor Mike Kafka.
