Phillip Daniels was packing up his stuff briskly after practice today, but he didn't seem to be rushing -- or, at least, not as much as I'd have thought, given that he's trying to make it to a 7:30 kickoff at Vernon Hills High School near Chicago. "My plane leaves at 3:05," Daniels told me. "They're an hour behind us, so I don't have to rush too much."
But it's worth rushing a little. Daniels is heading to Illinois a day early to take the opportunity to see his son DaVaris -- an all-around offensive weapon for Vernon Hills -- play football. On Senior Night, no less. Over at the Examiner, John Keim has already written the definitive version of the story.
