It’s just Christmas morning today, or maybe even better, today NFL football is back! Opening day, a day filled with excitement around the league. A day where 31 teams are still hopeful their team can win the big game and become the next super bowl champion.
I of course say 31 because here in negative Miami most fans have the Dolphins as a 5-11 team or worse and hope is a hard thing to find. That being said there is still excitement over rookie Ryan Tannehill and the small glimmer of hope maybe this team will surprise us all and pull it together.
That being said today is the day where people start revealing their super bowl picks, so here at Phins Phocus we thought we would do the same.

Green Bay over Pittsburg
I went chalk with Green Bay taking the most popular team but I think Aaron Rogers is the best player in the NFL right now and has a sour taste in his mouth that will lead him back to glory and a 2nd Super bowl championship. Let’s not forge...

Marino eager to see how Tannehill fares
MIRAMAR, Fla. Come Sunday afternoon, Ryan Tannehill already will have something on Dan Marino.
Tannehill will become the first Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback to start an opener. Marino didnt get the call until the sixth game of his rookie season in 1983, which actually didnt sit too well with him.
My expectations were to come in and start right away, Marino said on Tuesday...
Lauren Tannehill and the Ladies of Hard Knocks 2012
This season, HBO’s “Hard Knocks” documentary series followed the Miami Dolphins. And while the Fins may not be loaded with the talent to make a playoff push during the 2012 season, the players will certainly be happy when they get home.
Yes, the women featured on the show proved they have the talent to go even further than their boyfriends or husbands. In fact, they may have...
Yep. Chad Johnson got a tattoo of his estranged wife
There are a few things that might stand out from this years edition of Hard Knocks featuring the Miami Dolphins. Maybe it was Ryan Tannehill’s wife, or his phone number, but most likely it was Chad Johnson, even though he was off the team before we could all get used to him in teal. His [...]

Game Preview: Dolphins vs. Texans
TGIF! It’s a football Friday and the first Dolphins game of the season is only 2 days away. Things are getting exciting as the Dolphins should have only one thing on their minds right now and that’s pulling off the huge upset against the Texans, although I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Yesterday I took a poll, and 20-13 voted they thought a Win is more important than a strong week...
Dolphins seeking more takeaways in 2012
While enduring three consecutive losing seasons, the Miami Dolphins have ranked last in the NFL in takeaways with 59.
Coincidence? They don't think so. New coach Joe Philbin says his team must start finding a way to win the turnover battle.
The Dolphins go into Sunday's opener at Houston lightly regarded because they're relying on rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill to...

If you’ve been following all of my picks, you’d know I love betting against rookie quarterbacks week 1. They tend to, predictably, struggle in their first NFL action. Since 1994, rookie quarterbacks have completed 55% of their passes, averaged 6 yards YPA, and thrown twice as many picks as touchdowns during...
