The Arizona Cardinals are playing some of the worst football in recent history. After somehow lucking their way into winning their first four games of the season, they have now rattled off nine straight losses and look to be going nowhere fast as they placed Kevin Kolb on the IR this week and anointed Ryan Lindley his replacement. The Cardinals are a team that will find themselves in the off-season mix for a slew of different options under centre. From Vick to Alex Smith and Matt Flynn. Or maybe Geno Smith or Matt Barkley? Whoever they go after, rest assured that they will not deal with another season of the debacle that they have dealt with this year. The offensive line is a disaster, the running game is a Beanie Wells type disaster and the defence can only do so much when their attack struggles to throw for 200 a game. Beanie and LaRod Stephens-Howling are hardly the one-two combination that strikes fear into the heart of opponents. Arizona has not scored more than twent...

Vince Young would be an upgrade for Cardinals

It's no secret that the Cardinals have one of the worst offensive lines in all of football, they have given up the most sacks out of any team in 2012 and fail to block for their running backs, making them have the worst running game in the NFL as well.  This is the exact reason why Vince Young would be the perfect fit for the Cardinals now.  Young is a fast mobile quarterback...

Darnell Dockett on his future in Arizona: "I have no idea"

Darnell Dockett is in the dog house. Defying the head coaches and spitting in your teammate's face isn't really a good idea. Which begs the question, is he wanted in Arizona anymore? The Arizona Cardinals season started off so well, going 4-0 and on their way to prominence again. Seems like almost a lifetime ago with the 4-9 team, who's latest dismal showing resulted...

Darnell Dockett could be on his way out of Arizona

According to ProFootballWeekly.com, there’s a chance that both safety Adrain Wilson and defensive end Darnell Dockett won’t be with the Arizona Cardinals next season. With Cardinals veteran SS Adrian Wilson recently telling the local media that he thought his days could be numbered in the desert, could disgruntled DE Darnell Dockett soon be following suit? It appears Dockett...

Cardinals elevate DT Lumpkin from practice squad

The Arizona Cardinals have elevated defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin from the practice squad and released guard-center Mike Gibson. Lumpkin spent the entire season on the practice squad after he was re-signed following his release by Arizona at the end of training camp on Aug. 31. Lumpkin spent his rookie season in 2011 on the Cardinals practice squad after he was signed as an undrafted...

Cardinals' Patrick Peterson thinks he's the best CB in the NFL, will show it vs. Megatron

The woeful Arizona Cardinals going up against the Detroit Lions will at least have one aspect to focus on, and that's the matchup between Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson and Lions receiver Calvin Johnson. Peterson say he's ready for him, and that he'll show everybody come Sunday who the best cornerback in the league. “I think I am the best cornerback in the...

Peterson, Johnson add subplot to Cards-Lions

TEMPE, Ariz. Patrick Peterson is still trying to make a name for himself in the NFL. And the Cardinals' second-year cornerback has no problem lobbying on his own behalf. When asked Friday about the challenge of facing Detroit Lions star receiver Calvin Johnson, who leads the NFL with 1,546 yards and is chasing Jerry Rices single-season NFL record, Peterson took what some might...

Arizona Cardinals: Week 15 NFL Power Rankings (#29)

Last week: 28 (-1) Record: 4-9 Net points per drive: -0.43 (28th) DVOA: -18.5% (27th) Weighted DVOA: -24.6% (28th) Will the Cardinals complete the 4-0 to 4-12 transition? I think so. Their remaining games are against Detroit, Chicago, and San Francisco and they don’t really look close to having things together, especially offensively. Studs None Duds QB John Skelton: 11 of 22 for...

Making sense of Rex Ryan's backup quarterback quandary

Tim Tebow hasn't been healthy enough to see the field for a month, yet New York Jets coach Rex Ryan insists Tebow remains the No. 2 quarterback. Meanwhile, Greg McElroy, Gang Green's third-stringer, is the only quarterback not named Mark Sanchez to run New York's offense in a regular season game this year. The healthy and capable McElroy replaced Sanchez in the second...

Wicks: Good talk with Leach, ponders options

GERARD WICKS, the Washington State verbal commit who will play for a California state crown Friday, said Mike Leach called him Sunday to talk about the season Wicks has had so far and to envision his future in the Air Raid. The 3-star running back tells CF.C he is sky high about the Cougs -- but not so much as to preclude him from taking official visits elsewhere.

Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals: Week 15 NFL Pick

Detroit Lions (4-9) at Arizona Cardinals (4-9) One of the most powerful trends is known as the six and six trend. This says that teams that finish 6-10 or worse struggle to cover as favorites of 6 or more, going 23-64 ATS since 2002. The Lions are currently 4-9 and need to win out to finish better than 6-10 and even if they win this week, there’s no way they’ll win out against...

Cardinals place QB Kolb on IR

The Arizona Cardinals have given up hope that Kevin Kolb will return this season, placing the only quarterback who had success with the team this season on injured reserve and naming rookie Ryan Lindley as starter for Sunday's game against Detroit. Kolb led the team to a 4-0 start to the season, but went down with a rib injury in Week 6 and has not played since. The team placed...
