Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon told the the local media that there’s still a chance he could have to undergo season-ending foot surgery if it’s not where it needs to be after the bye week. “We’re trying to avoid that at all possible costs,” Garcon said, per The Washington Post. “But at some time, you’ve got to be realistic and you’ve just got to have it and hopefully it’s a successful surgery and recover from it.” Garcon says his foot is getting better. “It’s getting better,” he said. “I’m trying to put more force on it; I’m walking around every day, I’ve got orthotics in my shoes, and I’m trying to give it a little bit more push. But it’s still not where it needs to be.” Garcon says he’ll test his foot out after the Redskins’ week 10 bye. “There’s no real update or miracle that happened overnight,” Garcon said. “We’re going to try to go after the bye, see how it feels. But we’re still trying to get as much pain out of it as we can.” I get the feeling that garcon will be forced to miss the remainder of the season.   var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = ''+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })(); sr_adspace_id = 1000005525107; sr_adspace_width = 300; sr_adspace_height = 250; sr_ad_new_window = true; sr_adspace_type = "graphic";

Is Raheem Morris the Answer for the Redskins Defense?

“I got this Jim”   We got caught up in a false reality this year; there is no other way I can put that. As fans we all looked at RGIII and Alfred Morris with those big wide eyes like a bunch of teenage girls at a Backstreet Boys concert. Watching Robert turn up that sideline 76 yards for the win against the Vikings, watching Morris run for a few 100 yard plus games and the entire...

Enough is enough Redskin fans, we knew what kind of team we had going into this season

Yesterday during the lack luster Washington Redskins vs. Carolina Panthers game I had to close Twitter down. Yes the team, especially the defense played poorly, but the fan reaction was getting ridiculous.  All the complaining about defensive coordinator Jim Haslett has reached the heights of ridiculousness. Is our defense terrible? Yes. Are some of the play calls questionable...

'Skins players back coach Shanahan

Mike Shanahan's players are supporting their coach after he seemingly wrote off the Washington Redskins' season and then said his comments had been misinterpreted. Washington co-captain London Fletcher said Tuesday that Shanahan is ''a proven winner, a two-time Super Bowl-winning head coach. He's not a person who gives up on a season.'' Shanahan has...

This season's NFL rookies 'as good as any group'

Good as Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III are, look beyond the first-year quarterbacks making a strong first impression and check out other NFL rookies delivering dynamic performances. The 503 games started by first-year players is the highest total through Week 9 since at least 1991, according to STATS LLC. And those rookies are producing like never before: STATS says the 10...

Washington Redskins: Top 5 Reasons They'll Miss The Playoffs

Bill Murray should purchase the Washington Redskins.One of Murray's classic films, "Groundhog Day", has some painfully real similarities to the Washington Redskins. His character Phil found himself stuck in an endless time loop, repeating the same things over and over, trying to do something, ANYTHING differently each time in an effort to break free of the loop and...

DMV: At Least Dan Snyder Isn’t Jerry Jones, You Guys

Jerry Jones will be Dallas’ GM as long as he’s Dallas’ owner. [USAT Sports] The Nats’ BP pitcher is suing the Phillies’ GM. That’s awesome. [Nats Journal] The secret to Ian Desmond’s ‘12 success? He hit the ball far. [Fangraphs] Sounds like the O’s are trying to extend Buck Showalter. [Jon Heyman] Bradley Beal has been awful, but chill out a bit. [Broom on the Warpath...
