Pro Football Zone:
Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon is unsure when he’ll be able to return to the field. His foot injury is so painful that it’s difficult for him to run as fast as he’d like to.
We learned this week that one of Garcon’s toes is inflamed which clearly isn’t making things any better. I doubt we’ll see him this weekend against the Giants.
BEST OF MAXIM
Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan says injured receiver Pierre Garcon is a ''long shot'' to play against the New York Giants on Sunday.
Garcon missed practice a second day in a row Thursday, getting treatment for the painful swelling on the bottom of a right toe that has kept him out of three of Washington's past five games. He'll skip practice Friday...
LEADERSHIP IN WASHINGTON
The Redskins rookie quarterback understands that he has to assume the role of team leader and doesn't appear to be backing down from the responsibility.
Washington Redskin fans are still coming off the high of quarterback Robert Griffin III's 76 yard touchdown run that clinched the 38-26 victory against the visiting Minnesota Vikings. Of course as per usual when RG3 takes off and runs there are a litany of critics who hate it, no matter what the outcome is. I, however, am not one of those people. I don't cringe any less for...
The New York Giants will get their first look this week at Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III, and while we all know that RG3 can run like the wind, starting safety Antrel Rolle sees the rookie as a good passer who, six games into his NFL career, is worthy of being termed a "complete player." "As you know, he can run the ball…I mean, he's a fast guy...
Washington Redskins special teams maven Lorenzo Alexander is making a move to get more playing time on defense.
The player nicknamed ''One Man Gang'' had 1 1/2 sacks and plucked a fumble out of the air deep in opposition territory in Redskins' 38-26 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
The Redskins have been looking to fill the spot left vacant by the season-ending...
Robert Griffin III's look back at his 76-yard touchdown run was surprisingly analytical.
''I didn't realize how much I slowed down at the end, when was looking back at the guy,'' the Washington Redskins rookie quarterback said Wednesday. ''I was enjoying the moment. I usually don't do stuff like that. But I talked to a bunch of the players and...
New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul must feel pretty good about himself after he broke out of his funk and terrorized the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
He must also feel good about his chances of putting some heat on the Washington Redskins Robert Griffin III after watching teams such as the Atlanta Falcons lay multiple licks on him.
Today he said that he has some advice...
They entered the NFL together in the 2006 draft class and quickly became starters for their respective teams as rookies.
Barry Cofield began laying the groundwork to establish himself as one of the NFL's top defensive tackles.
Kevin Boothe got cut by Oakland the following year.
As fate would have it, they would become teammates for four seasons with the New York Giants.
Giants DE JPP To Redskins QB RG3: Don’t Bring It To My Side -
Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had one of the best rushing games of any quarterback in NFL history on Sunday. Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul says that if Griffin thinks he’s going to run well on the Giants this week, he should think again. Specifically, JPP told RGIII that running toward Pierre-Paul’s...
Dos Equis has the Most Interesting Man in the World.
The Washington Redskins can counter with Lorenzo Alexander.
Like the outrageous situations involving that suave pitchman in beer commercials, Alexander's ability to forge a six-year NFL career is just as improbable.
Alexander was once a 315-pound defensive tackle. He is now a 245-pound linebacker who is garnering Pro Bowl...
Tweet Over the years we’ve seen the nicknames/logos of sports teams change or come under fire due to being seen as offensive. When the NBA’s Golden State Warriors were the Philadelphia Warriors the team had a logo with a Native American portrayed on it. A state board meeting in Oregon earlier this year resulted in [...]
All aboard the hype wagon!
Well maybe it isn’t hype anymore, now that RGIII has gone out and proven to not only be the greatest thing to ever happen to Dan Snyder, but a generational talent that the league has quickly embraced.
So this week he takes his the Redskins to face the world champion Giants fresh off his defining moment scampering down the sidelines to seal last...
