INDIANAPOLIS - JANUARY 24: Wide receiver Pierre Garcon #85 and quarterback Peyton Manning #18 of the Indianapolis Colts celebrate after the Colts defeated the New York Jets 30-17 to win the AFC Championship Game at Lucas Oil Stadium on January 24, 2010 in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this hectic craze of signings and trades that we call free agency, several teams have insiders that “break” stories in the media, some have the news out before the players even know. But today newly aquired WR Pierre Garcon tweeted that he has reached a deal with the Washington Redskins.

“I wanted you all to hear it from me 1st before u saw it on the news… I will be signing with the Washington Redskins and I’m very excited about the opportunity in front of me.

I want to thank all Colts fans from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you’ve shown me the past 4 years and I hope that at some level u will still follow my career, as I will continue to share my life with you on here…”

Garcon entered the league drafted by the Colts in 2008 as a 6th round pick and saw success with the team. The Colts organization was making drastic changes and Garcon wanted out of Indianapolis, he was offered a 5-year deal to stay with the team two weeks prior to free agency, but declined.

In his career, Pierre has just over 2,500 yards receiving and has brought in 16 Touchdowns. He should fit in nicely with the Redskins
