In life when we deal with tragedy or witness horrendous events, it’s okay to talk to someone about how you are feeling. Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel, general manager Scott Pioli and linebackers coach Gary Gibbs were all witnesses to Jovan Belcher’s suicide. USA TODAY is reporting that the NFL and Troy Vincent, the NFL’s vice president of player engagement, is intent on making sure that the trio has help coping with such a sight, With that, all three will be required to attend mandatory counseling sessions. Reports are the initial stages will continue through Monday, and follow-up sessions will be scheduled for individuals and the group for the next three months. “We’re always going to say ‘I’m OK, I’m good.’ That’s us. Especially inside of this space, from a coaching standpoint or a player standpoint, it’s, ‘I’m good.’ No, we’re not good,” Vincent said. “Witnessing that kind of event is horrific. It’s not about closing the door, not about being the gladiator, the tough, immortal football player that we’ve always developed into being. This is serious. This is a mental, visual image that we need to talk through, and this is OK. “If the individual doesn’t share with us what’ s going on, we don’t know. We have every intention to assist whoever is being affected or is maybe having temporary or long-term challenges. We can’t force anybody to do that. We’re not mind readers, and we don’t want to assume. But the services are there.” Vincent went on to say that the NFL offers counseling and education about a lot of different issues, bu they aren’t mandatory, and the challenge is “we can’t force anyone to seek out help.” Kudos to the NFL and Vincent for making sure those three men are mentally alright going forward. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) This should have been a big week for Brady Quinn.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is coming off one of the best games of his career, helping his team win for only the second time this season. He's heading back to Cleveland, where he washed out as a first-round draft pick, brimming with confidence in his strong right arm.
But as with the rest of the...

Fresh off their second win of the season the Kansas City Chiefs (2-10) will hit the road this week to play the Cleveland Browns. (4-8) The kickoff for this game is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST on CBS.
In a lot of ways the Chiefs are the old Browns. They have Romeo Crennel as their head coach and Brady Quinn at quarterback. Neither of those worked well in Cleveland and the results have...
Kansas City is coming off one of the most emotional games in franchise history, and with a win Sunday it would mean so much to the fans and the families of the incident on that Saturday morning. With them winning their 2nd game of the season last week against the Panthers they face another great game with the Browns. I do have the Chiefs coming out with the win in this game, but...

A memorial is being held in North Texas for the slain girlfriend
of Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher.
Romeo was huge [this past week] — he was kind of that steady rock. In the midst of everything, he obviously witnessed it so he knew he had to put it on himself to not only communicate what happened, but at the same time, lead us because there was going to be so much emotion involved — a lot of guys searching, seeing how they should respond. He was obviously emotional, and rightfully...
