The Miami Dolphins coaching staff rearranged the Dolphins practice schedule this week to give the players off for Thanksgiving.  The Dolphins practiced on Tuesday, a day that they are usually off, so that they could spend Thanksgiving with their families.  Hopefully, the Dolphins coaches ‘family’ approach will pay off as they continue preparations for the Seahawks tomorrow. We have 3 games on Thanksgiving today and will do our best to give you some winners!  We went 3-1 this past weekend, bringing our record up to 24-18.  Now we have to build on that momentum!  Here are our picks for the Thanksgiving games: Houston Texans -3 over Detroit Lions The Texans got a scare from the Jaguars last week, but were still able to improve to 9-1 on the season.   The Lions, meanwhile, are treading water at 4-6 and don’t look like the playoff team we thought they would be before the season.  I think the scare from the Jags last week will serve as a wake up call for the Texans.  I think they’ll come out today, in front of a national audience and make a statement. I think the Texans win this game handily and improve to 10-1 and in control of the top spot in the AFC playoff picture.  Texans 30 Lions 21  (cont’d on page 2, click below) Pages: 1 2

Miami Dolphins cheerleaders’ “Call Me Maybe” video spoofed by U.S. troops

Via Speleb: U.S. troops based in Afghanistan had some fun and spoofed the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders’ “Call Me Maybe” video. Fins Productions — the company that made the original Dolphins cheerleaders rendition of the Carly Rae Jepsen song — uploaded the video to their YouTube channel with this description: “Troops stationed in Afghanistan recently sent us their...

Marcus Thigpen ignites Dolphins return game

DAVIE, Fla. Reality has set in for the Miami Dolphins, who are 4-6 and riding a three-game losing streak. Barring a miracle turnaround, this season will not be about fighting for a playoff berth in Year No. 1 under Joe Philbin. Its about building a foundation and finding players who can make a difference. Enter Marcus Thigpen. The former Indiana running back already has found...

The Dolphins have played their way out of the playoffs. Week 12 preview.

The Dolphins were in the driver seat for the playoffs a few weeks ago.  Now they're just trying to compete. After going a red hot 13-1 in week 11, I went 2-1 on Thanksgiving day.  For the season that makes it 106-57.  I'm still in striking distance of .750 for the season. Let's take a look at week 12. Minnesota at Chicago - The Vikings are coming off...

The Miami Dolphins and Joe Philbin: What to Do?

Let's say you are Joe Philbin. Your team has come off three losses in a row to teams that are not that much better than you are, and one of those teams completely blows you out of the water. For the... Come here for the best Miami Dolphins blog on the web. We have all of the most up to date new and opinions on the Dolphins organization for its fans.

Dolphins look to turn things around vs. Seattle

DAVIE, Fla. The act of looking ahead comes naturally to fans and media members. In contrast, NFL coaches and players admit to looking no farther than the next opponent usually. I think now you have to look ahead, Miami Dolphins linebacker Kevin Burnett said Friday. You better understand what youre playing for. We have to understand that we have to put together a string of wins...

Carroll and Bush meet again as Seattle faces Miami

When Reggie Bush got his chance to face Pete Carroll in the NFC playoffs two seasons ago, he couldn't wait. It was the opportunity to show off before his former college coach when injuries in the New Orleans backfield left Bush as the featured back. Then Bush carried the ball just five times and was left watching Carroll celebrate the Seahawks' upset victory of the then...

Seattle Seahawks vs Miami Dolphins: Battle Of The Rookie Quarterbacks

When the Miami Dolphins selected Ryan Tannehill with the 8th pick of this year’s draft, they didn’t expect him to be their starting quarterback, at least not this year. The prevailing theory was that he would sit on the bench this year and start next year. Tannehill obviously didn’t get that memo; he went out and grabbed the starting job before the first game of the season...

Seattle Seahawks at Miami Dolphins: Week 12 NFL Pick

Seattle Seahawks (6-4) at Miami Dolphins (4-6) As I mentioned in the Tennessee/Jacksonville write up, one situation I love betting on is road favorites after a bye. It’s strong for divisional matchups, as teams are 22-3 ATS as divisional road favorites off a bye since 2002, but that trend is still 22-12 ATS for non-divisional matchups and 44-15 ATS overall, so it’s not like it’s...

Leon Lett remains football’s biggest turkey

Leon Lett was part of three Dallas Cowbo Super Bow teams. Lett was a two time pro bowl player. Yet, the most memorable plays of his career are blunders. The most memorable  play of Lett’s career happened in a game against the Miami Dolphins in 1993.That day the Texas Stadium was covered with snow and sleet as a rare storm pounded the area. Dallas led 14-13 with 15 seconds left...

Dolphins Division: Dolphins slide continues, Pats off and running

The Miami Dolphins were once 4-3, but that was a long time ago my friends.  The Dolphins currently sit at 4-6 and are now 3 games behind the Patriots in the AFC East.  The rest of the division isn’t doing much better, since the Bills and Jets are tied with the Dolphins for 2nd (and last) place.  Since all 4 teams were tied at 3-3, the Pats have gone 4-0, with the rest of the...

Judge: NCAA 'malicious' in USC case

The NCAA was ''malicious'' in its investigation of a former Southern California assistant football coach who was linked in a report to a scandal surrounding Heisman Trophy-winning tailback Reggie Bush, a judge said Wednesday. The NCAA's report on ethical breaches by Todd McNair was flawed, and the former coach has shown a probability he can win his defamation...

Judge: NCAA 'malicious' in USC investigation

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The NCAA was "malicious" in its investigation of a former Southern California assistant football coach who was linked in a report to a scandal surrounding Heisman Trophy-winning tailback Reggie Bush, a judge said Wednesday. The NCAA's report on ethical breaches by Todd McNair was flawed, and the former coach has shown a probability he can win his...

Judge says NCAA “malicious” during investigation of USC football

Former USC running backs coach Todd McNair essentially had his career ended by the NCAA’s punishment of the school’s football program. The NCAA ruled that McNair “knew or should have known” about payments from a wannabe sports agent to running back Reggie Bush, despite a serious lack of evidence. Now McNair is suing the NCAA, claiming the organization’s investigation was...
