Found December 20, 2012 on Fox Sports:
Baltimore Ravens fans still rue the team's failure to nab tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez in the 2010 NFL Draft because of deft maneuvering by the New England Patriots. Dennis Pitta, though, isn't a bad consolation prize. Because of injuries suffered by "Gronk" and Hernandez, Pitta enters the FOX America's Game of the Week against the visiting New York Giants (4:25 p.m. ET Sunday) with more catches than either member of New England's dynamic duo. Pitta's 57 receptions (for 613 yards and seven touchdowns) rank third in his draft class behind New Orleans' Jimmy Graham (69) and Cincinnati's Jermaine Gresham (61). Pitta also was one of Baltimore's few bright spots last Sunday in a 34-17 loss to Denver. He caught seven passes for a career-high 125 yards and two touchdowns, including a 61-yard scoring nab in which he broke three Broncos tackle attempts. His seven scores this season are tied for the franchise's single-season hi...

The Ravens Can Clinch the AFC North With a Win Over The Giants

Last week the Ravens clinched a playoff berth even though they lost to the Broncos. This week the NY Giants come to town and the Ravens can clinch the division with a win, while the G-Men are fighting for their playoff lives. The Ravens are 2-1 all-time against the Giants with their biggest victory coming in the 2000 Super Bowl. The team’s last meeting was back in 2008 which saw...

Flacco shoulders blame for Ravens' 3-game slide

Joe Flacco has lost three fumbles and thrown three interceptions in his last three games, each of which the Baltimore Ravens lost. Flacco understands that an NFL quarterback often receives an inordinate amount of criticism in defeat and perhaps too much credit for a victory. And he's OK with it. Asked how much blame he deserves for Baltimore's current skid, Flacco replies...

Joe Flacco optimistic he’ll get an extension from the Ravens

With  quarterback Joe Flacco’s running out at the end of the season, he remains optimistic that he’ll get a long-term extension from the Ravens. “Yeah, I always am [optimistic],” Flacco said, per the Baltimore Sun. “This is a great organization and you’re always upbeat about that.” Flacco says he doesn’t even think about his contract situation. “I’m sure it...

Bernard Pollard on the Ravens freefall: “We are the problem”

At the start of the season, the Baltimore Ravens were one of the favorites to go to the Super Bowl. They were within one dropped pass in the 2011 AFC Championship game of reaching that goal, however, after a hot start that had the Ravens firmly in command of the 2nd seed, they have tailed off badly. Cam Cameron wanted to install an offense similar to the New England Patriots...

Dennis Pitta’s big game against the Broncos has become par for the course for the Denver D

Dennis Pitta is why you pay attention to fantasy defenses by position. The Broncos have been strong against the pass on the season but gave up the 2nd most fantasy points on the season to opposing Tight Ends coming in to this week’s contest. While many of Pitta’s yards came on a nifty play down the middle that probably shouldn't have gone for a score (missed tackles) it...

Ray Lewis might play Sunday against the Giants

According to the Baltimore Sun, there’s a chance Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis will play this coming Sunday against the Giants. The Ravens will again wait until Saturday afternoon to make a decision on Ray Lewis, but early indications are that the inside linebacker will attempt to play Sunday against the New York Giants. Lewis, who is trying to come back from a torn triceps that...

Franchise Tag Coming For Joe Flacco?

Albert Breer of the NFL Network tweets that the Ravens are prepared to franchise QB Joe Flacco at the end of the season if they’re unable to reach an agreement on a long-term contract. The two sides have been discussing a deal for months now, but Flacco’s performance this season doesn’t lineup with his overall asking price, which makes it seem as though the franchise tag...

Smith returns to practice

Torrey Smith returned to practice after missing Wednesday’s session. For the Giants: Did not participate: C David Baas (hip/shoulder), RB Ahmad Bradshaw (knee/foot), G Chris Snee (hip) and DE Justin Tuck (shoulder) Limited participation: CB Prince Amukamara (hamstring), WR Hakeem Nicks (hamstring), S Kenny Phillips (knee), WR Rueben Randle (back) and S Tyler Sash (hamstring) Full...

Ravens stumble toward postseason

Unlike for the New York Giants, the FOX America's Game of the Week is not a must-win affair for the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are in the playoffs already. They could even fall Sunday to the Giants (4:25 p.m. ET kickoff) and still capture the AFC North title with a Week 17 victory in Cincinnati. However, such a scenario doesn't make the possibility of a fourth consecutive...

Giants-Ravens Preview

The Baltimore Ravens are headed to the playoffs and the New York Giants can join them with two more victories. Neither club, however, enters Sunday's matchup in Baltimore with much momentum. The Ravens will be trying to avoid their first four-game slide in five seasons while the inconsistent Giants were shut out last week for the first time in seven campaigns. Baltimore (9...

Bradshaw, Smith questionable for Giants-Ravens

New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw and Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith were both listed as questionable after taking part in limited practice Friday in advance of Sunday's game. Bradshaw has knee and foot injuries that kept him out of last week's loss at the Atlanta Falcons. Smith suffered a concussion during the Ravens' loss to the Denver Broncos...

Patriots Injury Report: Rob Gronkowski, Wes Welker, Aaron Hernandez

While New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is among 19 players, also including tight end Aaron Hernandez, and wide receivers Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd, listed as questionable to play this weekend against the Jaguars, Gronk will reportedly not suit up Sunday in Jacksonville, according to Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe. Rob Gronkowski will not play on Sunday in...
