This game might just be the most watched nationally televised game in the history of the NFL.
Certainly games will only get larger audiences down the road, but the return of arguably the most accomplished quarterback in NFL history is not a bad start to begin with.
Brett Favre, Dan Marino and Joe Montana are perceived as just a few of the greatest ever, and yet Manning has more All-Pro (than any QB, ever), Pro-Bowl (same as Favre) and MVP’s than all three of them.
Manning’s major neck surgery will have everybody watching in terms of how he will react after taking a few hits from arguably the most well-known defense in all of sports.
The Steelers defense has been labeled as “soft, and over” by analyst Warren Sapp and this is a vital challenge and season for Mike London’s Steelers.
Dick LeBeau was put into the Pro Football Hall of Fame two seasons ago and while his defense may no longer be the best in the NFL, they are still relevant with three premier players.
James Harrison, LaMarr ...

There is one player on the Pittsburgh Steelers offense that has flown way under the radar this offseason and that is tight end Heath Miller.
Upon his arrival to the Steel City, new offensive coordinator Todd Haley mentioned Miller by name first during his introductory press conference when he called Miller "one of my favorite players."
Head coach Mike Tomlin would...
Something that former Steelers Head Coach Bill Cowher used to day, “get a hat on a hat”, is probably embedded in the minds of Steeler fans for all of eternity. We heard it so many times it was like a broken record, but he preached doing so because of the importance of beating your man, taking care of your responsibility on the field. Doing so leads to success, plain and simple...
Denver, CO. When the Denver Broncos signed “you know who” back in March to lead this franchise to the promised land, it immediately vaulted them into being one of the elite contenders in the AFC. Everyone saw what happened to the Colts last year when #18 wasn’t around. They went from being a 10+ win …

The last time Peyton Manning was quarterbacking an NFL team, True Grit was topping the American box office.
(Granted, it was the 2010 remake, not the 1969 original, but you get the idea.)
Loud mouth Stephen A. Smith gave the Pittsburgh Steelers, and more specifically, cornerback Ike Taylor, some bulletin board material this morning on ESPN First Take.
When Smith and co-host Skip Bayless got to the part of the show where they broke down the Steelers opener Sunday night against the Denver Broncos, Smith went off on Taylor and used him as a reason why the Broncos...
I’ll be the first to tell you that the Steelers’ window is closing. 11 of the 13 players with 9 years’ experience or more are starters, including their star QB and 2-time Super Bowl winner “Big” Ben Roethlisberger. The remaining 2 on that list are both of his backup signal callers. All the starters in that elite secondary have 10 years or more in the league except...
Expect to see Pittsburgh Steelers rookie RB Chris Rainey in the end zone often this season while turning a lot of heads around the NFL.

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos are just days away debuting the 2012 NFL Season. As a fan, it feels like Christmas is just around the corner. [DenverBroncos.com]
Perusing for videos, brought me to this great breakdown of the Broncos offensive scheme with Manning at the helm. I didn’t know NFL.com actually had good analysts. [NFL.com]
As we get ready for the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night opener against the Denver Broncos, here are some interesting numbers that relate to the game.
1 - The number of interceptions that safety Troy Polamalu needs to become the ninth Steelers’ player to record 30 career interceptions.
2 - The number of sacks that linebacker LaMarr Woodley needs to become the eighth player in...
The Pittsburgh Steelers are wondering if James Harrison’s knee will let him play Sunday when the Steelers take on Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos Sunday afternoon. Harrison has nursed a sore knee for the past couple weeks and he could be held out of the game. If Harrison is able to play in the Mile High city and he can get to Manning how many hits can Manning take and continue...
