The Steelers were on their way to another Super Bowl less than two years ago behind a strong passing game led by Ben Roethlisbeger and a group of young receivers led by Mike Wallace. Behind Hines Ward was the “Young Money” crew headed up by Mike Wallace and also including rookies Antonio ContinueThe post Emmanuel Sanders Could be the Antonio Brown of 2012 appeared first on SteelBlitz.
Pittsburgh Steelers NT Casey Hampton, coming a torn ACL injury he suffered in the playoff loss to Denver and currently on the PUP list, thinks that any talk of the Steelers being old and slow is a bit premature.
Although slow at the moment, and perhaps a bit old, at 35, Hampton told the The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register, "They've been saying that for how long?...
The first week of training camp for the Pittsburgh Steelers is now in the books with week two set to begin on Tuesday. It is now time to recap some things that took place in week one both on and off the field. Feel free to add your own observations from the first week in the comments.
Where's Wallace? - One week down and Mike Wallace has not budged. I figured he might miss the...
The Pittsburgh Steelers will not consider trading holdout wide receiver Mike Wallace. "Mike Wallace is not available for trade," Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert told ESPN, responding to trade rumors surrounding the receiver. Mike Wallace failed to report to training camp Wednesday and the team reportedly has suspended long-term contract negotiations with him...
According to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com, the one name that he keeps hearing about to watch for in Pittsburgh, is Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer, who’ll be battling for playing time with Rashard Mendenhall still recovering from a torn ACL.
Dwyer came in last season and looked good when he got on the field. He ended up going on season ending injured reserve...
After getting a mandatory day off each week during training camp, thanks to the new CBA ratified by the players and owners last year, the Steelers are back at it this afternoon with their regular workout open to the public. Thunder & lightening again during the workouts as mother nature refuses to consistently cooperate with Mike Tomlin’s team.
One thing that stuck out before...
The first Sunday training camp practice for the Pittsburgh Steelers is in the books and I am joined today by long time friend of the show, Nick Richetta, who was front and center for practice today to be our eyes and ears. You can follow Nick on Twitter at @SteelCityKid11.
Most of our focus in these podcast early on in training camp has been centered around the offense, so in this...
Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald believes the Dolphins “will at least make the call” to the Pittsburgh Steelers to inquire about wide receiver Mike Wallace, even though general manager Kevin Colbert has stated that he’s not available for trade.
I think it would make sense for the Dolphins to check into Wallace, since they clearly don’t have a number one receiver...
A Steelers fan attended Colts camp in a James Harrison jersey, possibly because he felt like being a dickhead but more likely because Steelers fans are always wearing jerseys, regardless of occasion or setting. As you might expect, this Yinzer interloper drew stares and angry muttering from others in attendance. His presence was so grating that new Colts head coach Chuck Pagano...
This was not the dying moment of an ugly loss. This was a feel-good charity softball game in the middle of the summer, for heaven's sake, when everybody was feeling happy and upbeat.
Still the boos rained down on poor Matt Cassel.
A few weeks earlier, in another sign of the little regard so many in Kansas City seem to have for their quarterback, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt had...
In a surefire sign that we may have seen the last of Mike Wallace in a Steelers uniform, Pittsburgh turned around and gave the contract they offered to Wallace to their other young wide receiver, Antonio Brown. Though I had both very high in my 2012 fantasy football rankings this year, their respective values hinged a bit on each other. Wallace is the barn burner of the pair...
Even Troy Polamalu calls the Steelers' physical approach to offense this camp "awesome." And one coach said of his group: "They don't care. They just want to smash people." Read on for the details.
Jim Wexell filed this complete practice report on the Pittsburgh Steelers:
