The Pittsburgh Steelers confuse me. I watch some games and I think "this is the next Super Bowl contender", and then I watch some and say "how are they going to hit .500 this year".It also seems to me that the Steelers have a fairly weak schedule this season, so they could easily be playoff bound. With that in mind, I am going to predict their wins and losses this year in this week by week breakdown.Week 1: Titans @ SteelersI believe the Steelers will start the season off right and defeat the Titans. The defense and offense both will simply be too much for the Titans to overcome. Prediction: Steelers 28, Titans 14Week 2: Steelers @ BengalsThe Steelers should handle the up and down Bengals in their second week, although it could be a fairly close game. I foresee Big Ben having a great game this week. Prediction: Steelers 21, Bengals 17Week 3: Bears @ SteelersWhile I confess to wanting to see the Bears do well, I believe the defense will sorely miss having Brian Urlacher on that side of the ball. Cutler and Roethlisberger will have a dramatic shoot out, and I think this will be one of Pittsburgh's best games of the season. Prediction: Steelers 35, Bears 31Week 4: Steelers @ VikingsBy now, the Steelers will be meshing fairly well on both sides of the ball, and barring any injuries, they should cruise to a fairly easy victory over the Vikings. The Vikings will probably suffer several turnovers and have trouble getting into the red zone. Prediction: Steelers 21, Vikings 9 Week 5: Bye Week Week 6: Steelers @ JetsBy now, the Steelers will be enjoying the hype of how good their season began, and I feel they might take the Jets too lightly. Although I believe the Steelers should win this game, I will say it is going to be close. Prediction: Steelers 17, Jets 14Week 7: Ravens @ SteelersNow things could get a little sticky here as the Steelers welcome the defending Super Bowl champs. Even without Ray Lewis, the Steelers have often struggled with Baltimore. I believe their first loss comes this week. Prediction: Ravens 23, Steelers 21Week 8: Steelers @ RaidersAfter taking their first loss, the Steelers will be looking to silence their critics and get back on the winning path. As the Raiders have more or less struggled, this should be a game in which they can pull it off. Prediction: Steelers 28, Raiders 7Week 9: Steelers @ PatriotsMy dad and I often argue who the best quarterback playing is. I choose Peyton Manning, and sometimes Tom Brady, while he takes Big Ben.Sadly, this week I have to prove my father wrong as the Patriots deliver a decisive defeat to Pittsburgh. Prediction: Patriots 42, Steelers 28Week 10: Bills @ SteelersWith last week's loss still stinging, the Steelers again will try to bounce back. Luckily, the often pitiful Bills will help them achieve their goal. The Steelers will have little to no trouble knocking the Bills off to get the win this week. Prediction: Steelers 24, Bills 10Week 11: Lions @ SteelersSpeaking of struggling, the Steelers welcome the Lions this week. They also welcome yet another fairly easy win. Prediction: Steelers 31, Lions 9Week 12: Steelers @ BrownsWhen I look into my crystal ball, for some reason this game is cloudy to me. Intellectually, my brain tells me the Steelers should win this one. However, the crystal ball seems to indicate otherwise. I'm going out on a limb here and going to call this one an upset. Prediction: Browns 21, Steelers 14Week 13: Steelers @ RavensWanting revenge for the loss to the Ravens earlier in the season, the Steelers will be fired up for this game. I predict several pushing and shoving matches which escalate as the game goes on, however this time the Steelers will come out on top. Prediction: Steelers 27, Ravens 21Week 14: Dolphins @ SteelersBy this point in the season, the wear and tear will be seen on most teams, and the Dolphins will give the Steelers all they can handle. Watch for a fairly good match-up, but also a fairly low scoring outing. Prediction: Steelers 20, Dolphins 17Week 15: Bengals @ SteelersThe Bengals will be wanting revenge for the loss earlier in the season, and they will be coming to take the game from Pittsburgh. Sadly, Big Ben and the Steel Curtain will not be having any of that as they send the Bengals home, and probably seal the deal that they will miss the post season again. Prediction: Steelers 28, Bengals 13Week 16: Steelers @ PackersIn what should be a battle of two playoff bound teams, this is another one of those must see games for fans of either team. Rodgers and Roethlisberger will have a shoot out, and I believe Rodgers will come out on top this time. Prediction: Packers 35, Steelers 31Week 17: Browns @ SteelersHighly annoyed and wanting to right the upset earlier in the year, the Steelers will be looking to take it to the Browns from start to finish. I do not believe the Browns will be able to withstand a well balanced run and pass game. Prediction: Steelers 34, Browns 24
