Breaking Down The Steelers 2012 schedule
vs. Chiefs; Many Steelers fan would like to chalk this up as an easy win. DON’T forget just how good the Chiefs played the Steelers last year! The Chief’s have upgraded at RB adding Hillis to the lineup. This could be the shocker match of the year if the Steelers aren't careful. In the end. I’m taking the Steelers 24-20 due to their home field advantage.

vs. Chargers; This will be a tight game and I think could be must watch TV. Two Pro bowl QB’s square off but I am giving the Edge to the Steelers. I think they have more offensive weapons and a better defense.  Rivers lost his top target this offseason. Big Ben did not.  It’s that simple to me. Steelers 31-17

vs. Jets; A rematch of the AFC Championship game from two years ago. Look for both teams to come out swinging. The Jets will look to get revenge this week. The game plan should be to heavily blitz Big Ben as the offensive line has had protection issues. This time around Rex Ryan will have the Jets ready to gang tackle the 240-pound QB. Jets 23-16.

vs. Eagles; The battle for Pennsylvania? Ok maybe not but this should still be a great local game! If you notice from my picks I don’t like the Steelers to beat many NFC East teams. That doesn’t change this week.  The Eagles have a great defensive line and secondary. This should force a rather low scoring game. I’m going Eagles 20-13.

vs. Redskins; I think the Redskins will be a much better team in 2012, but not good enough to beat the Steelers. I will take the Steelers 31-23

@ Giants; Traveling to the defending champs short a RB with a poor offensive line. If I’m Big Ben I get a little more insurance this week from State Farm. I’m taking the Giants defensive line should take over this game stop the run and harass Ben enough to win. Giants 27-13

@ Cowboys; Well, these Cowboy-Steeler games are always interesting. Get your popcorn ready.  Romo vs. Big Ben in Dallas. I think the Dallas pass rush will be able to get to Big Ben and that will be the game. Cowboys 31-20

@ Raiders; These two teams are both evenly matched up posting strong defensive units and former Pro Bowl QB’s leading their respective offense. I think the difference in this game will be the QB and Big Ben gets the nod. Steelers 27-19

@ Broncos; This should be a great game and could affect playoff seeding. Peyton Manning makes the Broncos a much better team. With that said the Steelers know how to get to the QB and will sack Manning early and often. Steelers 31-27

vs. Browns; The Browns still are looking at being in the basement of the AFC north at least one more year. Cleveland always play the Steelers close and I don’t expect that to change. The Browns are on the right path with two first round picks. Those picks won’t be enough to overtake the Steelers.  Not yet anyway. I will take the experienced QB in this match up at home. Steelers 24-13

@ Browns; See above comment.

vs. Bengals; This is will be a tight game and will likely decide who makes it into the playoffs. The Steelers have the advantage at QB and WR. The Bengals have the edge at RB/Def/O-Line so the teams are evenly matched. I think the Bengals and Steelers split this year with the Steelers winning this home game. Steelers 27-17.

@ Bengals; See above comment, I think the Bengals will win the home match up this year. Bengals 24-16.

@ Ravens; Think the Steelers want to get revenge for how the Ravens caused their season to spiral out of control? I think they want it but won’t get it this week. The Ravens will win the trench war in the offensive line and that will be the difference. Big Ben is tough and will keep the Steelers in the game but I don’t think his offensive line can protect him. I won’t under estimate the Ben to Wallace potential but the Ravens have the better team this year. Ravens 27-17.

vs. Ravens; See above comment, The Ravens have the better team but I think the Steelers can get a win at home. This is a very intense rivalry and the Steelers wont drop this one at home. Steelers 23-21.

@ Titans; This is a very evenly matched game that could go either way. Both teams have veteran QB’s and solid defensive units.  I will give the Edge to the Titans as they have the edge at RB and are playing at home. I also take in the factor that Matt Hasselback will be looking for some revenge. Titans 24-20.

I know the Steelers faithful wont agree with me but I think the Steelers have to start to rebuild at key positions.  Feel free to leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
