The Pittsburgh Steelers have named their next coach of the Offensive Line. Jack Bicknell Jr., who coached the line for the Kansas City Chiefs this year during the "Year of the Non-Quarterback". The Chiefs had a great season rushing the ball, ranking fifth and averaging just under 150 yards a game. Kansas City ranked last in the league in passing, but had no quarterback. Chiefs starter Matt Cassel suffered an injury early on in the season, and things never got better from that point on. Prior to his year's service with the Kansas City Chiefs, Bicknell Jr., was a line coach for the New York Giants from 2009-2011. The team ranked in the top ten in 2010 and 2011. The Giants ranked just outside of that top ten at eleven in 2009. Jack Bicknell Jr. was also the head coach of Louisiana Tech from 1999-2006 and currently ranks third in school history in the win column.Bicknell Jr. brings a great resume with him to Pittsburgh. Steelers Head Coach, Mike Tomlin, noted that he was impressed with the way that Kansas City ran the ball last season amidst all of the quarterback turmoil. "They had some instability at the quarterback position, but they ran the ball and they ran the ball consistently." said Tomlin on his new Offensive Line Coach. This Pittsburgh Steelers' Offensive Line is still very young, and has some developing to do at many of the positions. In a city that has it's pride in the run game you would have to think the organization made the right move. For now the fears of replacing Sean Kugler have hushed.
