The Pittsburgh Steelers will attempt to shake things up by bringing back veteran safety Will Allen after he was released by the Cowboys yesterday.
Allen was seen at the Steelers facility and it appears that the discussion was more than social as ProFootballTalk reports that the move will be done by today:
Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Allen has signed to rejoin the Steelers today.
The corresponding move hasn’t been announced, though Dulac said safety Damon Cromartie-Smith is expected to be released to make room for Allen.
While the Steelers moved quickly in this case, Allen lost his starting job in Dallas to a rookie and played inconsistently during his brief tenure in Dallas. Hopefully, a return to Pittsburgh will help stabilize not only Allen's play, but that of the Steelers defense as well.
What do you think of the move to bring back Will Allen?
