plaxico burress Plaxico Burress plotting a return to Steelers? [Quick Take]Looks like Plaxico is taking a shot in the dark (Pun intended) and trying to make a return back to where his career began, Pittsburgh. Previously he played five years with the Steelers notching 261 receptions for 4,164 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six fumbles over the span of 71 games. His best season with them came in 2002, when he set his career highs for receptions (78) and yards (1,325), to go along with seven touchdowns.

Burress is a talented receiver but his off the field issues many times overshadowed what he did on the field. His impressive resume includes… domestic disturbances, accidental shooting, cival lawsuits driving violations, and most recently owing back taxes.

If you ask Plaxico Last week he admitted to being surprised that he hadn’t yet signed with an NFL team.

“No doubt about it,” he said. “With some of the things I was able to do after being away for two years, I pretty much thought it spoke for itself. But I guess obviously not.”  (http://www.cbssports.com)

Burress has had an impressive career 550 rec 8,457 yards and 63 total touchdowns (due to shooting has had a couple years off) Because of his time in jail Burress is still fairly fresh in a football sense. Is he worth it however? He played with the New York Jets most recently but could only muster 45 rec 612 yards and 8 touchdowns. Most would blame it on the mediocre Mark Sanchez but I feel he could still do better.

The Steelers definitely have a decision to make with the hold out of Mike Wallace, but will it be worth the Steelers trouble to bring in a player like Burress? Will he behave on and off the field?

Burress will definitely find a home this season, but will it be the Steelers?

Plaxico Burress Owes $59,000 In Back Taxes

Amid rumors that former Super Bowl winning wide receiver Plaxico Burress is interested in playing for the Oakland Raiders, reports have now surfaced that Plax has a tax lien placed on him by the State of New York because he owes them $59,000 in back taxes. If Burress was desperate to catch on with a team before this situation, I imagine he will be trying even harder to earn a ...

Plaxico Burress reportedly asking for too much money

AP Photo According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh post-Gazette, the reason free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress is still available is because he’s asking for too much money. It looks like the Steelers were looking into acquiring Burress as a replacement for Mike Wallace, but Bouchette said that he wants “too much money.” The reason Burress is likely asking for too...

Plaxico Burress Needs Reality Check Concerning His Next Potential NFL Pay Check

Plaxico Burress is a 35-year-old wide receiver whose best days are in the rearview. He missed two NFL seasons while sitting in prison after committing one of the more ridiculous crimes ever committed by a professional athlete, and that is still saying something. With decreasing numbers and increasing age, Burress should be hoping to settle for any team who is willing to pay him just...

Plaxico Burress just wants a job at this point

He was once a Super Bowl hero, heading towards greatness, but now Plaxico Burress can’t get a job. This is what happens when you shoot yourself in the leg and have a reputation for being a malcontent. Burress, who has drawn little to no interest from every conceivable team, is even telling willing to play [...]

Plaxico Burress Thinks Oakland Could Be A Good Fit

Plaxico Burress has not experienced the same amount of success that Mike Vick has since his release from prison. I’m not sure if that’s a result of a talent gap or how NFL front office people feel about Plax.  Either way Burress is not any a camp at this moment and he is trying to figure out why. The unemployed wide-out has put on a full court press to find a team before...

Herm Edwards: Cowboys should sign Burress

Miles Austin's recent injured hamstring and Dez Bryant's off the field issues are two reasons why former NFL head coach Herm Edwards says the Cowboys should sign free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress. Austin, who missed six games during the 2011 season because of hamstring injuries, has been sidelined during training camp after tweaking a hamstring on Saturday. Even though...

Slovakia’s Maria Homolova Huge In San Francisco

Should Maria be on our Greatest Porn Names of the London Olympics list? Probably, but guessing the pronunciation is something like HO-MOL-OVA. It’s not really on the level of Dong Dong.
