Plaxico Burress has not experienced the same amount of success that Mike Vick has since his release from prison. I’m not sure if that’s a result of a talent gap or how NFL front office people feel about Plax.  Either way Burress is not any a camp at this moment and he is trying to figure out why. The unemployed wide-out has put on a full court press to find a team before the regular season starts, and he may have found a franchise to take the bait. Pro Football Talk via Paul Gutierrez of CSNBayArea.com is reporting that there may be mutual interest between Burress and the Oakland Raiders. Raiders new head coach Dennis Allen stated “he wouldn’t rule it out.” “We’re going to look at any options that are out there that we think can make us better. Whether or not we make any moves or not, that’s to be determined. But we’re not going to rule anything out.” It’s not a yes or a no for Burress, but at least it has people talking about him. Right now that’s better than nothing. Check ou

Jones and Goodson: Camp Battle Heats Up

One of the biggest battles going on during the Oakland Raiders’ training camp is at backup running back behind Darren McFadden.  Taiwan Jones and Mike Goodson have impressed both the fans who made it out to Napa over the weekend, and the Raider’s coaching staff.  They have both impressed so much, that nobody, not the [...]

Plaxico Burress Owes $59,000 In Back Taxes

Amid rumors that former Super Bowl winning wide receiver Plaxico Burress is interested in playing for the Oakland Raiders, reports have now surfaced that Plax has a tax lien placed on him by the State of New York because he owes them $59,000 in back taxes. If Burress was desperate to catch on with a team before this situation, I imagine he will be trying even harder to earn a ...

Travis Ivey Throws the Raider’s Defensive Plans for a Loop

Ever since Reggie McKenzie took over the reigns in Raiderland, the question has been; Will the Oakland Raiders switch to a 3-4 defense in 2012?  That line of questioning eased a bit when McKenzie hired a defensive minded head coach that has worked mostly with a 4-3 scheme in Dennis Allen.  But then, Allen turns [...]

Why it won’t matter if Raiders’ McFadden becomes injured

The biggest worry on every Oakland Raider fans mind coming into 2012 is can Darren McFadden stay healthy for an entire season? Burress Return To Steelers Only Happens Out Of Desperation

With Mike Wallace still down in New Orleans and none of the young wide receivers making a charge for a roster spot so far in training camp, the rumblings have started suggesting the Pittsburgh Steelers should sign Plaxico Burress before someone else does. Whispers late Saturday night were linking the Oakland Raiders as a possible suitor for Burress, but nothing is imminent at...

Plaxico Burress reportedly asking for too much money

AP Photo According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh post-Gazette, the reason free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress is still available is because he’s asking for too much money. It looks like the Steelers were looking into acquiring Burress as a replacement for Mike Wallace, but Bouchette said that he wants “too much money.” The reason Burress is likely asking for too...

Raiders looking for backup to McFadden

Running backs Taiwan Jones and Mike Goodson were surrounded by reporters Saturday, each fielding questions about the other, the Raiders offense and the team's backfield. Rarely have two backup players garnered this much attention. Then again, given starter Darren McFadden's history of injuries, finding a capable understudy has taken on an added significance for the Raiders...

Plaxico Burress plotting a return to Steelers?

Looks like Plaxico is taking a shot in the dark (Pun intended) and trying to make a return back to where his career began, Pittsburgh. Previously he played five years with the Steelers notching 261 receptions for 4,164 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six fumbles over the span of 71 games.
